The Republic of East Kongo is a federal republic located in central sub-Saharan Africa, east of West Kongo, south of Camenbal, west of Zanzibar and Ethiopia and north of Zululand. East Kongo is, like its neighbor, an impoverished nation with a history of political and economic instability in the 1960's and 1970's, although since the early 1990's it has enjoyed a democratic government and internal peace, despite a continuation of tribal conflicts along the frontier with West Kongo.

With dozens of tribes and hundreds of dialects within its borders, East Kongo's national language is Danish, although as few as 5% of the population speak it as a first language and only 20% speak it fluently. The federal government is located at Danskeborg on the coast, while about 98% of its population lives in the rural interior. The current President of East Kongo is Denil Sisse, and the population of East Kongo is about 103,340,000.
