About: USS Wright (NCC-3868)   Sponge Permalink

An Entity of Type : owl:Thing, within Data Space : 134.155.108.49:8890 associated with source dataset(s)

Construction of Wright was authorized by the Starfleet appropriation of stardate 4990. (ST reference: Star Fleet Technical Manual) The stardate given would seem to suggest this ship was ordered during the TOS era in the 2260s. It is not positively known if this vessel was built, only that it was authorized. Since the vessels of the Ptolemy-subclasses are named primarily for well-known astronomers, it seems likely this ship was named for either Thomas Wright or William Hammond Wright, or both.
