Makut'amak was the Jem'Hadar First of the Dominion contingent aboard the Cardassian warship Trager, serving under the command of the Vorta Arawil. When Arawil was replaced by a surgically-altered Cardassian, Mindesa Rhos, Makut'amak became suspicious of the look-alike's unusually surly temper, which Rhos passed off as a result of excessive heat and poor maintenance aboard the Galor-class vessel. Rhos never allowed him the time for his suspicions to override his programming, however; Makut'amak and the rest of his troops died after she gave them tainted ketracel white, freeing the Trager to act without direct Dominion supervision.
