The company ceased operation of this route by the end of the 1970s, and completely shut down all operations shortly thereafter. Today, the corridor is served by Metro-North's Waterbury Branch between Bridgeport and Waterbury daily, but infrequently. CT Transit's New Haven Division offers 30-60 min. service via its "N" route, but only linking Seymour with Ansonia- Derby-Shelton, though the majority of its route was not parallel to Valley Transportation's route- which traveled via Wakelee Ave., bypassing Downtown Ansonia. Greater Bridgeport Transit Authority does provide two bus routes linking Bridgeport and Stratford with Shelton and Derby — both terminating at Derby Railroad Station — connecting with Connecticut Transit.
