| - Lucky Stores is a southern California supermarket chain. Lucky only has five locations, and is owned by Albertsons.
- Lucky was founded by Charles Crouch in 1931. Lucky quickly grew over the years, focused in southern California. In the 60s and 70s, Lucky operated Gemco, a membership-based discount chain. Gemco was also known as Memco in Chicago and Washington, D.C. Many Gemco stores were sold to Dayton-Hudson. Lucky also operated Eagle Supermarkets in Houston, Texas. In 1988, Lucky became part of American Stores, which owned Jewel, Acme Markets, and Alpha Beta. After that, many southern California Lucky stores were sold to Ralphs, and some were turned to Lucky-Sav-on, like Jewel-Osco. In 1999, Albertsons acquired American Stores. Soon, all Luckys were closed. However, in 2006, SuperValu Inc. acquired Albertsons, and the Lucky name was revived. Since 2013, Lucky is part of Albertsons again.
