During last game of the regular season between the Giants and Jets, after leading most of the game the Giants were down 21-20. Phil Simms threw a Hail Mary pass. The announcer said "Going in for Stacy Robinson and Friends" at which time the ball fell to the ground. The Giants lost the game and were eliminated from the playoffs by their crosstown rivals who had been out of the playoffs for weeks. [citation needed]
