- Carlov is in control of the Nintendo Gallery. Throughout the game you can take pictures of various characters and species in the game, and as long as they are quality photos Carlov will be able to create a sculpture of it and compose a description. The goal is to take pictures of all 133 characters or species in the game and have Carlov carve a sculpture. Each sculpture will take three in-game days, so it's suggested you partake in other quests and then return to see the new creation.

In The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, Carlov can be found in Hyrule Castle Town and is much easier to find. Because of the enormous time gap between The Wind Waker and The Minish Cap, it is unclear how Carlov happens to appear in both time eras, though this is not uncommon for games in the series. Because there is no camera in the game, players can rather get sculptures by using shells they find throughout the game. Using them will randomly give out one of 136 character/species sculptures, of which also have no value though nevertheless are there to give the player a since of accomplishment when they've all been found. In The Minish Cap Carlov has a younger brother named Borlov.
