Jean-Marc Richard (born October 8,1966 in St. Raymond, Quebec) was a Canadian defenceman who played for the Quebec Nordiques of the National Hockey League. He played junior with the Chicoutimi Saguenéens from 1983-87, winning the top defenceman award in 1986-87. He was not drafted by any NHL team since he was regarded as small for a defenceman but signed as a free agent with the Quebec Nordiques in 1987. Richard stayed with the Nordiques system for four seasons but only managed to get into five games with the big team, scoring 2 goals and 1 assist. He retired in 2005.

The Fort Wayne Komets signed him as a free agent in 1991. That began a stretch of seven seasons in the International Hockey League during which he won the Governor's Trophy in 1991-92 and the Ironman Award in 1994-95. Richard switched to Europe in 1997 to play for the Frankfurt Lions of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga of Germany. He later returned to North America to play four seasons of semi-pro hockey in Quebec. He retired in 2005.
