Go-Hatamoto were the Lion armies. It was made of fourty eight Daibutai, with a total fighting strength of fifty one thousand one hundred troops, led by a Rikugunshokan. Deployment of a Go-Hatamoto was intended to give it commander the greatest advantage in battle. The Ikoma and Akodo families both maintained a single army, and the Matsu family maintained two.
