abstract
  • iSync allowed users to synchronize data across multiple computers, PDAs, cell phones and iPods. You could synchronize contacts from Address Book, dates from iCal and bookmarks from Safari. iSync required a MobileMe account. As of Mac OS X Lion, iSync was no longer available. Mac OS X 10.4 used the MobileMe System Preferences pane and had the ability to also sync keychains, Mail accounts and Mail rules, signatures and Smart mailboxes. iSync was still used in Mac OS X 10.4 to add devices such as Palms and cell phones. Beginning with iTunes 4.8, iSync no longer synchronized iPods; these settings had migrated over to iTunes.
