'Anton Filipov was a top agent for the DSR. Filipov was born in Burgas in 1944. His father worked in the port, one of the largest in the nation and his mother was a DSR agent who worked at the Hungarian Embassy as an office secretary. Filipov joined the DSR in 1967, working at the Directorate for State Security. Filipov went up the ranks and in 1988 became the Junior Subsecretary of the DSR (third in importance). In 1997 he defected to Greece and revealed important details of the Bocşa incident to the government (and press) in order for immnity and protection. In August 1997 he was found dead in his Athens apartment. Many claimed the DSR was responsible for his death.
