Star Trek: Brave New Worlds (previously known as Star Trek: Atlantis) was a play-by-forum RPG created in the late fall/early winter of 2003 on a now non-existent forum called E:Earth. It was moved to the Helix BBS after E:Earth closed. When the RPG moved to the Helix, the title changed from Star Trek: Atlantis to Star Trek: Brave New Worlds. Also, the general setting changed from that of a single ship, to covering three vessels, Atlantis, Blade and Shark, which were set to explore the Gamma Quadrant in the year 2381.

Episode 3 was a "crossover" to Star Trek: Pretoria, another RPG taking place at the Helix at the time. The RPG ended after the eighth episode, after all three ships crashed into a Genesis-created planet. Their fates were left unknown, allowing a starting point should the RPG open up again.
