During Operation Serket Breach, he was in command of the pinnace that boarded the slaving vessel Luigi Pirandello, and was proud to be the first Torch officer to liberate a group of slaves without the help of foreign powers. However, as soon as he and his Marines were aboard, the Luigi Pirandello, a Mesan Alignment agent activated the vessel's self destruct sequence, killing everyone aboard including Lieutenant Yiorro and his subordinates.
