| - This project of his, he recently did labeled as "PrestonStarry Ranks All 100 Songs - Countdown Topic - User Selected Songs" had Preston creating a topic, where he had ANY user on B8 post ANY kind of song or music for him to review, and state something about the song in a write-up format. The write-ups are significantly better than they have before. Thanks to Preston maturing a lot lately in the few years he's been around on B8, the write-ups were something to take a glance at and look at while looking at the songs it were, the users that posted the songs, people wanted him to review in the project. The whole project was started in October 2012 and ending in December 2012. Took roughly five or so weeks of write-ups for Preston to get done with the project, but it's done. The #1 rated song was Tim Halperin - I Don't Want To Grow Up. The song was nominated by Simoun. The full countdown can be read below. The write-ups are included in this song along with the users that nominated the song and YouTube links included to the songs that were nominated in the topic. #100 Riskay - Smell Yo Dick Nominated By: CommodoreTN YouTube Link: I hated it as soon as I heard the beginning verse. This frighteningly sounds way too similar to "Friday" from Rebecca Black and that is NOT a good thing at all. This is typical auto-tune crap you hear on the radio every day. I hate you Commodore. Worst of all of your nominations. I mean they were all pretty bad but this speaks for itself. Do you think my parents look into my account here or something? They obviously don't. The final nail in the coffin in here was the "Cause that ain't kewwtee..." verse. That just begging for it with trying to make me show it some symphony but I'm not giving any like that. This could like melt the bread off a corn dog. That's how bad this is. It's prize? Getting last place in these rankings. Thank you very much. #99 Passion Pit - Sleepyhead Nominated By: Mega Mana YouTube Link: This is awful. I remember hearing this vaguely back in the LittleBigPlanet 2 trailer from about two years ago. I'm happy I didn't hear the full version of this song until now. What the hell is going on here? Why does the chipmunk sound like he's having an orgasm when the song is going on? This is like a horrible recreation of "Still Alive" from Portal. This is NOT a masterpiece. It's so bad to listen to it might as well be the eighth deadly sin. I can see it now. "Rile" with this song being right next to it in it's definition. Rile is the pain I'm in after hearing this garbage. Next. #98 Dey Got Surfer Nominated By: CommodoreTN Link: Same old auto-tune shtick. The pain isn’t as suffering here as it was in Smell Yo Dick as this only lasts for a minute and 46 seconds so it’s marginally better at something…but that's not a great honor to have. This sounds like it came from the unmemorable step child of Eminem. And that’s what makes this so bad. #97 Mykki Blanco - Haze.Boogie.Life Nominated By: Groundcraze YouTube Link: That was disturbing. I have no idea what’s going on here in this song but I don’t like it. Why is his hair in pigtails? Why is that when someone else in the video their eyes are censored? What’s with the constant body twitching? I don’t care if he’s touching his nipples. The song gets even more unbearable with the brainless and annoying rhyming near the end of the song with verses like “The thriller and vanilla” and “The Great White hype. Ms. Bonko. Game killer.” The song is literally bonkers. Good for the intentional laugh but not much else. #96 Journey Into Sanjo - Gueum Sinawi Nominated By: FL81 YouTube Link: I hate how there's too much commotion going on here in this song. Who's idea was it to play four instruments here in this song at the same time? Songs like this rarely work and this was created in mind with a horrible concept with a horrible execution. This sounds more like ritual chanting then it does as an actual song. Like one of those songs you would hear where it would be "OKAY" if it was more timid and calming, almost like mediating-yoga like music but with all of this ruckus going on here in this song this doesn't leave me a good feeling inside of me at all. More like an empty feeling instead. The Chinese Sensai Ninja like chanting here in this song is just simply awful to deal with. Why is this song nearly 8 minutes long? This is NOT music. This is suffering. No more of this please. #95 Mai Kadowaki - Pretty Fly (For A White Guy) Nominated By: FL81 YouTube Link: If there’s one punk-rock band I can’t stand out there it’s The Offspring. I remember first hearing this song back when I was in Elementary School when I was a kid. I hated the song since I was a youngster and I still do this day. This is a sickeningly sour, sugar coated, J-Pop creation that might as well just be more worse than the original. It doesn't help the fact that this song sounds like it was sung by 5-year old girls that sound like they just get off the toilet, potty trained and look up to someone like Paris Hilton as their most wanted person to idolize. This is just a mess from top to bottom. I don't want to go any further than that with this being a horrible cover of a horrible song that came out back in 1998. #94 My Heart Gores Out To Lemonberry Splash Nominated By: CommodoreTN Link: Way to go Commodore. You had to nominate two songs from the same guy on the same website. ...Were those police sirens I heard in this song? Did I just hear a police officer blur his sirens so loud that when he gets out of his car at the beach he asks for some Lemonberry Splash? That isn't the only bright spot about this song either. There's some great writing here in this song with some of the lyrics being real magic like... 1:24 - I am not good at typing on a phone. My fingers are too fat.1:36 - AWNT LINDA.2:59 - WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT? A FARTING SOUND? The instrumental in this song is very poor and doesn't flow in conjunction with the vocals of the song at all with creating something that is just wonderfully awful. All of your songs sucked Commodore. I don’t know what else to tell you but that. #93 Gunoh Musashi OP Nominated By: FL81 YouTube Link: At first glance I was expecting this to be badass. Those glowing green eyes and that long maleficent silver hair make you realize that a scuffle is getting ready to get thrown down. Then those horrible Japanese vocals kick in and they complete destroy the appeal of this song. So much wrong with this song. The lyrics in this song are some of the most meaningless I have ever heard in my life. It gets to be so bad it pokes fun at itself with it being so poorly written down like... What is with the constant yelling in this song? So so bad. #92 Kendrick Lamar - Compton Nominated By: TheCodeisBosco YouTube Link: I tumbled out of my chair laughing when I heard that beginning verse. This gets devastatingly bad as it rolls on with the damage setting in when I hear Dr. Dre say “massacre” as “MASS AH – CAR” It’s “MASS - AH – KURR” My God it's “MASS – AH – KURR” The song continues on for 4 minutes and 9 seconds with no sense of direction whatsoever with meaningless lyrics until… oh my hell was that an attempt at auto-tune with Kendrick trying to sound like a robot? Gag. I don’t even know what else to say about this “song” Might be good as a dance remix to ALL YOUR BASE BELONGS TO US though. #91 Alien Soldier - Blacksheep Nominated By: FL81 YouTube Link: What layer in Hell did you salvage this from? This sounds it came from the deepest crevice or layer of it. This is horrible. All I hear going on in this song is indistinguishable static and the world pummeling itself into the sun like the world is coming to an end. Anything else by Treasure I'm sure I heard from somewhere else like Gunstar Heroes or Sin and Punishment probably have their whole own soundtracks that sound a thousand times better (just one song mind you) then from a piece of rubbish like this. Just awful. That said FL81 wins the honor with being the only user that nominated all of their songs in this list that cracked the bottom ten. Congratulations! ^_^ #90 Erika - I Don't Understand Nominated By: CommodoreTN YouTube Link: After watching this song I was left feeling skeptical about wondering where this song came from. I looked it up and I see it’s from Bad Girls Club: Season 9. Not that it matters or anything but it proves how horrible of a network The Oxygen Channel is to watch. Oh yes the song. Well this song is the one I got the most laughter from coming from Commodore so that’s a small compliment to give to an otherwise horrible song. I love how Erika references “Rima” in the song once and never references to her again. It gets to be pretty bad with the "I don't understand..." melody sounding exactly the same throughout the whole song, with the same clips being replayed over and over again. With hand-clapping coming into play in the song with attempting with trying to give it some life but it never takes head off with it. …Why am I wasting my time on this? I don't know. This song is horrendous. #89 Passion Pit - Little Secrets Nominated By: mcflubbin YouTube Link: I actually first heard this song before I gave “Sleepyhead” a listen and the results of these two are not the same. One is putrid and the other is croaking terror. I can't understand a single word Michael Angelakos is saying with his shrieking and agonizing voice being bad to the bone. I seriously hear "When I came down the dawn pours into me." as "When I came down the gun came down on me." The other bits and pieces of this song aren't much welcoming. What's with the echoing in the song with (what it sounds like) little kids in the audience singing alongside to the lyrics of this song? Some clown and his mimes that are singing this song doesn't capture my attention at all. No more of this...please. #88 Tokyo Mew Mew OST - Koi Wa Ala Mode Nominated By: Raka_Putra YouTube Link: No…just no. There’s some tolerable Japanese J-Pop out there but this sits near the bottom of the totem pole if you ask me. This sounds more like I'm listening to a cheerleading recital than I am with an actual song. The back-up vocals are completely forgettable and so loud it sometimes makes feel like the sound in the song is on mute and completely inaudible to hear in some parts. There have like four people that are singing alongside themselves at the same time here in this song and while they are attempting to do so I can't hear one person over the other as if all they are all making themselves look bad. This was the opening theme song to the show right? Well it doesn't do much with perking me up and this would just rather be something I skip all together. A lot of these Japanese songs didn't do too well on here in this list as you'll soon find out. I definitely should of been a lot more stricter on the types of songs you could nominate in this thing. #87 The Rapture - Out Of The Races and Onto The Tracks Nominated By: Groundcraze YouTube Link: Oh my Lord make the pain stop. I never want to listen to these ever guys again. These guys are a poor attempt with trying to recreate themselves like the next Franz Ferdinand or the Red Hot Chili Peppers. This band is never going to make it big, if they're going to be creating annoying and obnoxious verses in their songs like the ever pleasing (sarcasm people) verse you hear constantly in this song... The song grows old with the same bass guitar playing by itself in the background with no mention of another instrument appearing alongside it in the song at all as it creates something that's more rather nonsense than something tranquil. Crappy song all the way around. #86 Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Unatco Theme Nominated By: Ytterbium_70 YouTube Link: That may have just been the biggest waste of five minutes in my life. There is NOTHING remotely interesting going on here. Does this song only play during the cut scenes of the game or something? This is just eeriness and darkness setting in with it only changing slightly in pitch to match up with what's going on in the background, never mind the fact there isn't much going on in the background anyway. To the random burning sounds of a fireplace to the emergency sirens going off I don’t have a clue with what to make heads or tails of this as "music". Moving on. #85 P-Model - 2D or Not 2D Nominated By: Shadosneko YouTube Link: The voices are incredibly grating. The electric piano doesn't help hinder the pain away either. The electric piano moves in a pattern way too fast for me not to get into the groove of this at all. The electric piano at the same time just kills the flow of the rhythm here in this song as it just lacks meaning and gets way too chaotic for it’s own good as I like to just sit down and give a song a listen. It attempts to do too much to succeed and when it does it just doesn't do it in the way I like it. Not very good at all. #84 Joseph Megamix Nominated By: Pram_the_Oracle YouTube Link: I can’t stand the overall symphony feel of this song at all. All of the singing done here in this compilation sounds like it was done by little kids that are still in grade school and they’re only doing this because it was for a graded assignment they needed to get done by their teacher that assigned it to them. The Elvis impersonating vocals in this song are revolting (particularly at 4:55 to 6:00) when it's is at it’s finest. I also hate it how the sound keeps fading out and changing in volume constantly in this song. Loud one minute and then mellow the next. There’s better stuff out there I like a thousand times better than this. #83 Kendrick Lamar - Swimming Pools (Drank) Nominated By: CherryCokes YouTube Link: Not quite as bad as the other Kendrick Lamar song I reviewed earlier but this is still pretty bad. At least he acts a little sentimental here. At 1:41 is that the sound of his Grandmother talking to him? 0_0 I hate the use of recycled content and footage here in this song. It shows laziness and it’s something YOU DO NOT DO in a music video. When he’s saying “room full of liquor and you dive on me” I swear I hear him say “room full of liquor and you die on me” instead. Well this man can dance better than he can sing so I’ll give him that but he’s no Michael Jackson. Simply put I don’t care about this man at all. #82 Portishead - Undenied Nominated By: Groundcraze YouTube Link: Is... The constant thumping in this song is incredibly annoying and playing it with it at the same with the occasional use of a record scratcher doesn't help create the best appeal out there for this song. The Celine Dion-esque vocals aren't much of a blessing to listen to as they are as it is a throwaway. Just like this whole song. What's with parts of this song skipping themselves over as the video is playing? Also I'm pretty sure the driving footage is repeating itself ad nauseum from beginning to end here. Why did some of you waste all of your nominations on songs that are crappy like this? Terrible. #81 Trio The Punch - Theme Of Santas Nominated By: Kloggmonkey YouTube Link: This gives me the feeling that this song will be going somewhere but it fails to take off anywhere. The synchronizer sound effects get old. There's better gold to strike out if you ask me from almost anything out there from the 16-bit era I'm sure that could sound better than this. ... Wait a minute? This is from a game that originated as a cell phone game in Japan? No wonder this sounds like crap. I do not like this kind of tune at all. #80 Mansun - Taxloss Nominated By: SuorGenoveffa YouTube Link: I can't stand British pop. I hate how monotonous and repetitive this song can get sometimes. The lyrics are beyond predictable with no real catchy hook or feel to it whatsoever as the same line "Taxloss..." is repeated over and over again with nothing real meaningful coming out of it that gives it a good beat. I hate how the vocals, the back-up vocals and the guitar solo in this song play for a majorly of the time in this song all at the same time. It's like the song never loosens up and it never gets to act like what a song should be doing. Being fun. This would just lighten up a ruckus. This is just so bleh. I don't really like it myself and it's mostly the same I can say from the same kind of genre it comes from. #79 Linkin Park - Points Of Authority Nominated By: Mega Mana YouTube Link: This is NOT my favorite Linkin Park song and this is NOT a good song at all. My favorite by them would have to be Breaking The Habit. At any rate what is this atrocity? I hated this as soon as I heard the cheesiness of the beginning verse. I detest Mike Shinoda / Fort Minor. He sounds like a composted rubber duck every time he raps. This is worse than the Nickelback song. I mean at least in that song it didn't take itself too seriously like this one did. This sounds like Chester wrote the lyrics down, poorly written down all in a matter of five minutes and called it a day. Not good at all. #78 AP Ishida and The Cardigans (AD Takahashi, AD Katayama, AD Itou) - Fight! Kacho Fighter Nominated By: Kloggmonkey BROKEN YouTube Link: First video in the countdown where the YouTube link was deleted before I could type up the write-up for it. I apologize if the song couldn’t be viewed by your own convenience and at your own will to watch it but there isn't much I can do about it. Probably would of gotten to #75 on the countdown anyway. Couldn't find anything of this song and who wouldn't? That song title is longer than it takes for Usain Bolt to be in my house and run up and down the stairs, twice back and forth. Now did I think about it that would be cool if I had him over at my house. A picture with him would be nice. Maybe someday. This song was definitely wacky but I don't mean that in a good way. I like how it's taking place inside a boxing ring. I don't like it however when I can't understand a single word that is being said here in this song. I like the girl's voice with her peppy attitude where she is trying to bring the song to life here but something about this is just lacking to me. Well it gets a few points deducted from me anyway with it having the creepiest YouTube thumbnail picture I have ever seen. Nothing real astounding about this song. #77 Castlevania 64 OST - Tower Of Science Nominated By: Shadosneko YouTube Link: This is boring. Like really boring. All I hear going on in this song are loud thuds and the same annoying gong banging in this song looping itself over and over again to will's end with no charm whatsoever. Have a feeling you only nominated this with Halloween happening not too long ago. It's not exactly a hit with me and I doubt it will be with anybody else. #76 Ryo - Melt (Cover By Choucho) Nominated By: Raka_Putra YouTube Link: This sounds like I'm listening to a nursery rhyme then I am with an actual song. This is another boring J-Pop contraption. This song doesn't really made headway or get around anywhere as the constant "la la la la la" vocals in this song get old really quickly. It doesn't help it either that the vocals of this song sound like it was done by a 10-year old girl where I can't understand a single word it is that she's saying. So boring and generic. Might be soothing as a closing theme song for an Anime show in Japan but not much else. Especially not a song I would like to share with someone else in public. Seriously you never hear music like this in public. #75 Rameses B - Lone Wanderer Nominated By: SSBDarren64 YouTube Link: I’d be lying if I told you that I liked this. And I don't like this. This is almost (dubstep?) like and this is one of those things I am not particularly fond of. The reason being is that when a song gets dub stepped, the song is too brief to mean anything and when it does, it’s the same kind of verse and instrumental you hear over and over again. Not to mention the “WUBWUBWUBWUB” effect can get to be real maddening. I hate how the song itself starts out as an opera song and then becomes almost like a dance song. Somewhat chilling but the execution of it leaves a whole lot to be desired. This isn't music. I heard better stuff from someone else on Newgrounds. (Is that site even still relevant?) Most people I know use dubstep the wrong way and this doesn’t change my opinion about it. #74 Klonoa 2 - Moonlight Museum Ver. 2 Nominated By: MycroProcessor YouTube Link: I love Klonoa as much as the next person would but this song just isn't very good. When I was about to click on the YouTube link I was expecting to hear something going on outdoors with the eerie night setting in with fireflies rooming all around me. What I get in return are the sounds of an annoying train horn going off like it's passing through an industrial area with mallets striking in the background. The mallet striking DOESN'T LET UP AT ALL in the whole song which effectively kills whatever interest I had with this song out the window. I'm pretty sure that's better songs to hear in Klonoa 2 let alone Klonoa 1. Doesn't do anything for me really. Sorry. #73 Polkaface Nominated By: Pram_the_Oracle YouTube Link: Man I like Weird Al…I really do…but what the hell is this? The songs it is he choose to take a stab at here in this video are not exactly the greatest choices out there he could of used. What made me fall in love with the guy is how he uses his slapstick in creative and unique ways in something you would hear in “Like A Surgeon” or “I’m Fat” It’s fun just to see him mock the lyrics around and tear it up to shreds when you least expect it and you hear it coming out of his mouth and from your ears. There can be a lot of pleasure to it. THIS just sounds like he is reading to the lyrics of the song/s with not giving any of his natural charisma away in this whole compilation of songs that are unfolding here that it just sounds so weird for him to act so serene in a video like this from beginning to end. Especially where it concerns his past history. The only bits of this song I liked were “Baby” where it features Justin Beiber trying to get “lucky” with the ladies when he was a toddler and “I Kissed A Girl” with Katy Perry where it’s not what it seems for him to just "kiss a girl" This doesn’t provide a lot of merit for me and this is disappointing for me compared to his other work. #72 Salamander 2 - Fire Tripper (Remix) Nominated By: Ace_Killjoy YouTube Link: This song is not exciting at all to say the least. I was bored from beginning to end throughout all of it. It's a generic sounding 16-bit rock song you could hear from pretty much anywhere in it's time frame, that's not much different than anything else out there that you could hear from the 90's. Too pixelated for my taste as it draws itself out more out like it's a factory theme then something I would like to hear when I'm shooting peons out of the sky. I don't really care about looking this game up to see if it was never released outside of Japan. ... Oh wait. It never was. >_< Not exactly a blue ribbon winner here. #71 Legend Of The Seven Stars Nominated By: Pram_the_Oracle YouTube Link: This is second rate Metroid Metal crap. I was giving this a listen one day while I was eating my dinner and I wasn't impressed with the product of this at all. I'm sorry but I don't care about hearing metal remixes of a video game that came out sixteen years ago that's from a dated piece of crap that I have no intention with ever finishing in my life. I played Super Mario RPG for ten minutes when I was a freshman in High School. I didn't get what the big fuss was about this game back then and I still don't and I haven't played that game since. That isn't what I think about as the "good old days" of gaming. I think of it as being those days when the N64/PS1 console war was going on and that's what was it like from the generation it was that I came from. Some of these songs in this package, just feel completely out of place here when it's sounding like a metal song. It's fine to hear something like this if this was from Metal Gear Solid or something but not Mario. I was barely able to withstand long enough to finish this and to tell you the truth, I loathed everything about it. Maybe my bias against the 16-bit era is coming to play here but I digress. I mean anything fan related from Mario Paint probably sounds a gazillion times better than any song here that was included in this OST. Not a welcoming song I hold dear to my heart. That I probably never will with. #70 Takeharu Ishimoto - Emptiness And... Nominated By: RySenkari YouTube Link: Out of all of the TWEWY songs anybody could nominate why did you choose this one? Twister, Calling, Give Me All Your Love, Lullaby For You and Long Dream, just to name a few are just so much more memorable with more meaning than this one. I can’t stand the random screeching sound effects in the background that play sometimes in this song. The only part of this song I like is, the ending guitar solo attempting to give the song life but that doesn’t escape the fact this song is just hollow and very boring. #69 A Weather - Spiders, Snakes Nominated By: mcflubbin YouTube Link: That’s a cute album cover. This makes me sad that elephants can’t walk with using all four of their legs. As for the song…ehh…I’m not a fan of this. What doesn't make this a hit with me is the lack of an instrumental kick to it. It’s only just drums I hear going off in the background and the song never really sprouts itself to life beyond that with it sounding almost exactly, the same way from beginning to end. It’s way too exquisite for my taste and not something I have much use for. Too goody-goody if you know what I mean. Nothing real special here. #68 Dave Brubeck - Take Five Nominated By: CherryCokes YouTube Link: I like this as a song to play in a silent movie. I don’t like this as an actual song. Nothing before the 60’s should be called music. I mean if something like “The Wizard Of Oz” can come out around a time back in 1939, then every song from that point on, should be following it’s footsteps for setting the standard where it wasn't where you should be hearing compositions any more and more of like actual music, just like what this Dave guy should of done. It’s a shame you didn't hear anything like that until The Beatles came out. This is just mediocre all the way around. Doesn't really do anything wrong for me, but it just lacks a “Wow!” factor to keep me interested that I wouldn't want to listen to this song again for more than once. Not much else to say about this one. Calling something mediocre isn’t exactly the kindest compliment I can give. Or you shouldn't receive. #67 Jordan Rudess - Dreaming In Titanium Nominated By: MycroProcessor YouTube Link: This is just bizarre. I don’t like this. It’s not very good. When I’m trying to listen to one instrument play here in this song, while it’s unfolding, another one comes in and crashes the party, keeping me from enjoying it. Some of the instruments do not mix all that well together in this song at all. 1:07 to 1:17 in particular may just be the weirdest piece of construction I ever heard in a song. It sounds like Bowser invading Equestria with Kool-Aid in both of his hands and starting to unleash his mayhem on the kingdom with first spilling his Kool-Aid all over the ground. That’s not very threatening I know. And he has Green Kool-Aid with him too I should add. The best parts of this song were when the piano could be heard in the song’s instrumental. But it’s a rare occurrence with it only appearing in a few spots, here and there. More of mumbo jumbo than anything else. Not very good. #66 Super Monkey Ball Touch And Roll - World 9 Nominated By: MycroProcessor YouTube Link: This makes me want to play Super Monkey Ball 2 on my Wii. This sounds like a poor man's version of Casino Night Zone from Sonic 2. Not very good. The song gets slightly better near the end of it where it picks up in pitch and sound but otherwise it's completely forgettable. #65 Nickelback - Just For Nominated By: TheCodeisBosco YouTube Link: The obligatory Nickelback song. I’m sure some of you have been waiting for me to cover over this song for quite some time now. Everyone knows who Nickelback are. Most people hate them with their generic almost Christian rock like antics sounding pretty much the same for almost every single song it is they have out since the band started in 1996. My opinion about them? I thought Nickelback was okay for the first few songs they had out. I have good memories with hearing “Hero” for the first time in Spider-Man and “Photograph” where’s it reminding me that when I'm looking over to my past I haven't changed much but... You than realize most of their songs sound exactly the freakin’ same with whatever it is these songs it is they have out now. I can understand the hate these guys can sometimes get but I don’t think they deserve it since these guys haven’t been relevant to me since “Far Away” Their time might as well be over with, which I find odd since “How You Remind Me” seems like is coming on the radio every day despite the fact, that song is already a decade old. Needless to say I don’t like this song. I don’t like how the guitar is sounding pretty much the same here throughout the whole duration in the song, cutting into Chad’s vocals in the song where it just doesn't sound right. Some of the lyrics are also beyond senseless like “I want to rip his heart out” where it’s condescending the fact, the person that is singing to this song is a guy and it doesn't sound right at all. I don’t hate Nickelback. They just irritate me. They’re 15 minutes of fame have come and gone. And we should all move on with leaving these guys in the past behind us. #64 Butt Hole Surfers - Pepper Nominated By: Groundcraze YouTube Link: I knew I wouldn't like this as soon as I got a look of the name of the group that would be that would be singing this. >_> I have no idea what’s going on here in this song. I hear this talk about avalanches, sugar and people shifting through other people’s ashes. And that's just a tidbit of it. I also don’t like the vocals here in the song as they change from perfectly normal to the guy almost using an Irish like accent. The ending of the song isn’t all that great either as the best part of the song (the guitar solo instrumental) is thrown in to attempt mixing everything up here at times in the song but failing to do so and ever being appetizing. This song struggles to find an identity with me, just like I don't know where in the world this group is going to be going in the music industry if this is all they are ever going to be able to produce. This is just sloppy and poorly made. I’m not a fan of montages like these. Especially if they include nothing but boring Japanese gunk. This in of itself isn’t so bad but what kills it is the whole concept of it. It’s too insane to ever make heads or tails of it with it being too much like a high pitched, crazy-in-your-face package. There’s some bits of charm here and there, but with each song in this compilation only lasting for a few messily seconds, none of the songs in the video/s draw my attention and make me wish you nominated something with taking the “quality over quantity” route here because this isn’t what it takes here. Also? This loses points for being a nomination you spent on two videos on that have songs that sound exactly the same from beginning to end. I don’t think it’s fair you did that because if both of these videos sound so similar to each other, than what kind of appeal does it have? If you’re a complete anime dweeb I guess it could but not for a music buff like me. Besides aren't half of those songs that were included in those videos from anime shows that only aired in Japan that came out like fifteen years ago? It’s all about living in the present baby. Something like this is not going to hold the test of time. AT. ALL. #61 Circa Survive - House Of Leaves Nominated By: Groundcraze YouTube Link: This is one of those songs where it’s just not my cup of tea. I’m not sure what the exact type of genre it is you would call this (blues rock?) but this song never did really connect with me nor did I ever really care about it. The lyrics of this song are hardly toe tapping and too depressing for my taste to get into. The girl it is that is singing this song is certainly not an Amy Lee who I believe is still the queen of discouraging-emo rock music. The only real highlight of this song I like is the electric guitar. The song gets slightly better near the end of it where the vocalist actually perks up her voice where you can understand what it is that she’s saying in the background, but that moment of wonder isn’t much of a positive to note with the rest of the song itself being rather plain and forgettable. That’s enough to land it here in the bottom forty. The countdown is almost about to get more positive from here on out though. Which is more noteworthy to mention then this song. #60 Foster The People - Color On The Walls Nominated By: SSBDarren64 YouTube Link: I've heard of this song before. I heard it in a few Nissan commercials that would come on the TV every Sunday Night while the football game was going on. As for the song itself...well I honestly don't like it. I hate how the main vocalist here in this song (Mark Foster) changes his tone here in this song constantly, particularly in parts where it could be heard from 0:20 to 0:35 and 0:43 to 0:50. The song grows incredibly irritating and the song itself attempts to come alive with creative verses like "I'm a superman and it's my show" but it's let down with the whistling in this song not flowing well with the vocals of this song. These guys just make me wish I was listening to someone that was more talented than them that also sound very similar to them like Gorillaz. Was something I wanted to fast forward through with this being nothing but an otherwise forgettable track. #59 Andrew Bird – Fiery Crash Nominated By: SuorGenoveffa YouTube Link: Another song where it’s just too laid back with a guy that is too subtle with his own voice that keeps me from not really enjoying something like this. This lacks the playful and soulful nature you could hear in a song like this from someone else like Colbie Caillat or Jason Mraz. This is never really memorable or interesting. While the instruments playing here at the same time in this song are smartly integrated, that catchy chorus line, or verse, or hook, you could hear in a song like this is completely missing. The only notable thing here in this song I can make out of it is the whistling but it’s not all that enlightening. There is no enthusiasm to this song whatsoever. Nothing I would want ever want to listen to again and a perfect example with what a song does that is just so indistinguishable to me. So-so all the way around. #58 System Shock - Main Theme Nominated By: Ytterbium_70 YouTube Link: This song probably should of have already been ranked ages ago but there’s nothing I can do about it now. I’m a sucker for anything that has a cyberpunk theme to it so I was expecting to hear something nice in this song. (And probably why it got as high as it did here in the countdown.) Well that smile was quickly turned upside down as I came here and got what I expected out of this song. No more. No less. I hear cell-phone ring tones that sound better than this. Too much of this song plays itself out in a repetitious matter that this song never really grew on me or that well and it gets to be rather irritating. It’s the kind of song where I think it suits it’s setting perfectly (in some kind of laboratory) but this isn’t the kind of song I would like to hear at 6’o clock, first thing in the morning. Imagine playing this in your alarm clock. This is rather serviceable but not that great. #57 Asoaka Hilton - 2525/2011 Nominated By: Mega Mana YouTube Link: A smidge bit better than Nico Nico Energy. Still none of these Japanese songs are exactly top of the line with what I’m looking for and while they’re fine for what their worth, they can’t be better than any other Japanese song out there you could hear and decode with, that you could only understand it vocals with by reading it's English subtitles. Unlike the Nico Nico Energy songs, the songs here in 2525/2011, last just long enough for them to leave a lasting impression on me with enough personality to satisfy me. Favorites included the jazz hit at #25, the workout 8-bit wonder at #8, a kick-knack-patty-whack like song at #29 and I don’t even know where this song is going but possibly taking a crack at American culture song at #13. Biggest problem I had with this material is how this whole compilation of songs in this package, have every single song clash with each other. And the results of it are not that great. It’s mostly a mixed bag with some songs in this package gelling very well together here while others that are mixing together in this compilation are almost ear puncturing bad. More originality would of have also been nice. I see most of these songs referenced here in this video are just the Japanese adaptations of them. I saw parts of Pocket Monsters, Super Sentai and Disgaea just to name a few. A rather mediocre package. Partially good and partially bad. #56 Parov Stelar - Booty Swing Nominated By: Simoun YouTube Link: Not a fan of this oldie kind of style of music. A bit too “classical” for me if you know what I mean. The instruments themselves aren't really all that special to hear in a song like this anymore. I mean who really gives a damn about a phonograph anymore? This doesn't cut it for me anymore as I would have liked it better if I heard an instrument that gets little airplay on the radio more like a harmonica instead. Nothing real here in this song, perks me up with this being something I wouldn't want to listen to for more than once. Pretty much dull and lifeless. #55 Sly And The Family Stone - Family Affair Nominated By: TheCodeisBosco YouTube Link: I think from this point on I would call every single song I have left to cover over in this list at least something that is rather OKAY or at least 6/10 material. The songs that are ranked here in this range aren't exactly the greatest masterpieces out there but their rather satisfactory for what their worth. There’s still some nit-picking here and there with these songs I have to talk about. I’ll talk about this again when I believe the songs start to get “good” or 7/10 when the time goes on. 70’s R&B huh? Well I’m afraid to say this type of music aren’t exactly something I’m favorable to but I don’t detest it as I do with other genres out there. I don’t get the big deal here with this song becoming a #1 hit back in 1971 but hey if Gangam Style (almost) can I guess anything can. Rose Stone’s vocals in this song are not that great as all I hear from her in this song is constantly saying “It’s a family affair…” and this is ALL SHE SAYS THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE DURATION OF THE SONG. I would of have liked it better if she showed a little more grace in this song as her overall role in this song falls flat. Sly Stone does all the work here in this song to carry it to it’s success and I don’t find it right to have the spotlight all on one person rather than with it, should have been, the whole group working together to create something outstanding. Which this fails to do. It’s a pretty nice song with some charm to it but I can’t take this as something I’m totally fond of with it not being something that was released in my time frame and lacking something that is just majestic about it. #54 John Grant (ft. Midlake) - I Want To Go To Marz Nominated By: Justin_Crossing / Walker YouTube Link: Sounds like one of those songs you hear in the beginning of an investigation show. A song that probably would of been good if it wasn't for the fact with how unearthly this whole song is. The lyrics in this song are a little rough around the edges as it gets to be a little too silly and “fruity” for it’s own good. No pun intended. What’s with the constant talk about food in this song? The instrumental here in this song plays itself out in an almost sinister kind of way and it seems unfitting to hear something like “Lime, tutti frutti, special raspberry, leave it to me.” verse occur in this song when it’s playing at the same time with what maybe the spookiest guitar solo I have ever heard in my life. This song is brought to life with the well-constructed guitar solo with the occasional use of a piano. They change in harmony to the song and are used in creative and nice ways to the song. Saves it from mediocrity. This isn’t exactly cream of the crop. There’s far better stuff out there I heard better than this but this wins points for originality. #53 Elizabeth Gillies and Ariana Grande - Give It Up Nominated By: RySenkari YouTube Link: These two girls have NO chemistry together whatsoever. That being said there’s something infectious here about this song I like about it, even though I know there’s people out there that are going to absolutely hate this. The lyrics are nothing out of the ordinary here as this song was written down the best (or should I say of mediocre quality) by 19-year old girls as good as they think they can get done right. What kills this is how one girl here in this song is pretty decent (Elizabeth Gillies) while the other is just hilariously and nasally bad. (Ariana Grande) When you hear these two girls while they’re singing, you can’t help it but picture yourself that these two have no business with singing with each other at the same time. This is your typical bubblegum pop mush. Nothing real offensive but nothing real out breaking either. I probably will have “It’s the same old story but you’ll never get it right.” stuck in my head for the next few days though. #52 Revo (Bravely Default: Flying Fairy OST) - You Are My Hope Nominated By: NioraptH YouTube Link: How come I haven’t seen this show before...? Oh wait it from a video game. An RPG for the 3DS that’s only been released in Japan so far. Guess it takes all kinds. I’m sorry to say this but this song doesn't leave a lasting impression on me with it being too brief and subtle to mean anything memorable to me. It’s better than the average Japanese gunk out there I already reviewed, but it’s anything but better than that and little else. The song starts out well enough with a (clarinet?) playing in the background that sounds restful and nice to take a listen to. This is one of those songs where it’s nice to hear yourself escape from reality and go outside. Very Okami like. Also like something you would hear when you’re outside and watering the flowers with your Grandmother or getting lost in a garden maze. Not like you would want to get lost in a garden maze anyway. It’s just so hard to judge a song like this with it being so over before you know it. I give it credit with it being a little unique, but that setback I have already mentioned earlier is what holds this back from super stardom. And why I rank this outside the Top 50. #51 Yuzo Koshiro - 4operators Nominated By: MycroProcessor YouTube Link: I should probably already talk about something here. Chances are if you nominated a VGM song in this list then chances are it probably didn't do very well in this countdown. It’s not that I have a problem with it or anything but it’s just the kind of music that quickly loses its luster, when you compare it to actual music as a majority of it falls flat with it not having much to work with as the variety of instruments (especially during the 8-bit and 16-bit era) is surely lacking and looks dated about 80% of the time by today’s standards. More of the modern music from a video game on a lighter note, ended up doing much better here than a 16-bit composition like this one did. This is (what I hear) a mix of three electronica like songs coming together that fade out, periodically in this song that remained nothing but a little uninspired. The beginning is a little frightening with it not being a piece of music I really wouldn’t like to hear anywhere unless I’m like in a zombie invasion or something. The song gets a bit better near the end of it but, in general this video game tune isn’t all that special or memorable to me since it’s hard to picture all of this in some kind of environment out there in a video game and how the whole seven minutes of this song are not original, as the same synchronizer sound effects in this song repeat off the deep end. Not a bad song just not a very fulfilling one. #50 Miku Hatsune - Project DIVA 2nd NONSTOP MIX COLLECTION Nominated By: Pram_the_Oracle YouTube Link: Speaking of songs that only last for 30 seconds long, here’s a collection of Japanese songs that play out almost like an album and be close to an hour in length. This wasn’t torture to sit through but just annoying to give the time of day to listen to from beginning to end. Which I didn’t do. Screw some of you people. You need to get lives. Stopped at the 55 minute mark and couldn’t do anything more than that. This was better than most of it’s kind I already had reviewed earlier but it wasn’t anything but acquit enough to listen to for just a few of it’s parts here and there. The songs here in this collection thankfully spring out to life a little more and being longer than WarioWare microgames compared to it’s competition. There’s some charm to be had here with this compilation but like with all of these kinds of songs, not all of them are winners. Some of my favorites in this collection were “Love Ward” and “Butterfly On Your Right Shoulder” With that said, this isn’t anything innovate that will turn the music industry upside down. It’s STILL just Japanese songs that I could hear better out there (even though this is alright in some parts) if I looked real hard for it. This isn’t particularly fitting with what my taste is with what I’m looking for but, I’ll take it as what I can to make out of it. This is SO lucky to make it far as it did but I think that can be blamed on so much crap people nominated in this thing. #49 Dessa - The Chaconne Nominated By: SSBDarren64 YouTube Link: Hmm…it’s hip hop with a bit of soul to it. I kinda like this. Her voice thankfully isn’t nails on a chalkboard inducing bad. It’s a subtle song that takes you back when thinking about your life when it wasn't all that complicated but simple. There’s no real hook here I found in this song that made it memorable to me as it’s a basic Point A to Point B hip-hop song that while I find it to be at times to a little mellow for me to get into, it’s a nice song to hear that reminds me I should pull myself together and get on in my life. This song is alright and while there isn’t anything totally wrong with it, it’s a little too serene for my taste to get into. #48 The Rippingtons – Earthbound Nominated By: Ace_Killjoy YouTube Link: Sorry fanboys. There’s no relation here between this and that Super Nintendo game that came out eons ago that share the same first name here. As for the song itself…it was alright. It has it’s high points and it also has it’s lows. This infused jazz-rock song combines two genres of music together into something that’s a little interesting but not enough to where I would find it to be anything memorable. The only real part of this song that caught my attention and what I liked about it was the guitar solo from 2:29 to 2:48. Sound too jungle-ish for my taste. One of those songs where it could find it fitting for one particular thing (for a victory theme song) but not much else. Could of have done a little more that would of made it better for me to get into. #47 Shinji Hosoe - Foreboding Nominated By: Shadosneko YouTube Link: From the well-received 999 Days game for the DS right? Well this song has a nice threatening feel to it. Like the danger isn’t quite over yet and there is still hell loose left out there in this world I’m living in. From a video game, this game certainly has a better soundtrack then most of what else it would be I would hear on the DS (helped with this game coming out so late in it’s system life-cycle. I guess…?) Some of the instruments here in this song could have used better execution as the slamming thud effects and some weird breaks in this song get tiring to hear after a while. This is adequate enough but, misses some flair and energy that spike it above the rest due to how repetitive this song can be once you give it a listen for more than a few times. #46 Frank Ocean - Golden Girl Nominated By: TheCodeisBosco YouTube Link: This reminds me of Sean Paul. I liked it...well I did until The Creator came in and ruined everything. Talk about a buzz kill. Watch it from 3:41 to the end and see what I mean. Like every rapper out there in this industry a guy like Tyler, The Creator, or whoever his name is has some nerve with coming into a song like this and try to get his point across here in this song, in a completely unnecessary matter with using the "f" word and having the song end on a low note, where we don't hear anything but the waves crashing into the ocean and the static of a television set going off. I'm left scratching my head here as I'm wondering what this song was trying to accomplish as it started off well enough but then it turned itself into a joke like the rapping part wasn't done intentionally as it killed all the flow and joy here to this song I had with it. This was a song that was getting somewhere but then later made itself sunk low. If you know what I mean. Would of been a good song otherwise. #45 I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream Demo - Looped Track Nominated By: Ytterbium_70 YouTube Link: This sounds WAY too similar to a song that I would hear in Final Fantasy 7. At first glance, when I was giving this listen I didn’t really care about this song at all. Now that I have listened to it for a few more times…it’s really not that bad. This electronica like song has some nice chilling effects to it. The beats in this song are well constructed and while not catchy, are at least in the way appealing, if you’re into this kind of thing a dreadful or spooky song like this can have a lasting effect on you. The problem though with this however, is that this isn’t exactly the kind of music I’m looking for. I’m not a fan of horror movies myself and I wouldn’t want to listen to this anywhere in my life, unless I was like at a graveyard or something. My father would hang himself if he ever heard some of these tunes you guys nominated. I’m not experimenting Crazy Bus on my father anytime soon. >_< Nevertheless this isn’t bad. Just a song I wished that was something more than just a looped song, that’s somewhat short in and of itself, and not sound like a game in my PS2 a friend of mine would be playing in the middle of the night. #44 Meet Uncle Hussain - Lagu Untukmu Nominated By: NioraptH YouTube Link: Hmmm…I can definitely see the appeal here with this song but I’m sorry to say that I’m not just a fan of this. The guitar work is great but the vocals of the song are just kind of “ehh…” or rather so-so. A little too foreign for my taste. The vocals here supported by firdz and Taja in this song don’t click with me as much as I would like it to. None of it is ever ear bleeding but, this doesn't strike a home run with me. This group is from Malaysia huh? No wonder this sounds like nothing I never have heard of before. Not that it works to it’s advantage or anything. Not bad. But not that great either. Sounds more like a ritual then a song though. #43 Mychael Danna & DeVotchKa – The Winner Is Nominated By: mcflubbin YouTube Link: I heard of this song before…but I couldn't picture myself from where it was that I heard it before until now. From Little Miss Sunshine huh? The song started off alright…then I was expecting SOMETHING and I didn’t get that at all, with this song not really building itself up to anything so this was disappointing. Too tranquil in and of itself, as I wouldn't find it necessary to hear myself listen to this song unless I was like jumping through a field of flowers or something. Not like I can anyway with America being in a bad enough of a drought as it is right now. The song just feels a little too “goody-goody” for me to get into and this reminds me of one of those songs that would play at an orchestra symphony, where I would take a field trip to one when I was in Elementary School, and watch them play it over and over again a dozen times until I bored of it. AND the teachers would still give you homework on those days when you came back. Not fun. That said this song pisses me off for that reason and that’s why I rank it outside the Top 40. #42 Beck - Go It Alone Nominated By: Simoun YouTube Link: I heard of Beck before. Not this song before but one of their other songs vaguely before. Well…this guy has talent, but this song just lacks something distinctive about it. I’m not too keen on this guy and I could care less if I ever hear from him again. I don’t like how 1/2 of the song is basically the chorus (the meat and potatoes of the song) irrationally repeating itself over and over again in this song, with the hook of it just being so crummy and unappetizing to listen to. There’s only so long I can stand to sit through and listen to “Na na na na na na. I better go it alone. Na na na na na na. I better go it alone.” It has a nice groove to it but the tone of this song could of have been better if Beck was a little more energetic in this song. Which he doesn't show much of. Not my favorite but I should say it was functional to listen to and it would have been better if it’s execution had turned out better. #41 SHINING WIZADO - Friends Nominated By: Kloggmonkey YouTube Link: This is more of a novelty song than anything else. I liked the idea of this but the execution of it left a whole lot to be desired. This is one of those songs where it just crumbles over itself after one person of this song, doesn't hold the end of their bargain to make the song mean anything approving. Why is that? KANE. I thought whoever did the voice of Daniel Bryan did a pretty good job, but Kane’s role in this song with whoever is reenacting him just didn’t do a very good job with him. Doesn’t help that Kane strays off course in this song for a majority of the time in this song and just babble out pointless crap like… 0:34 - "rawr rawr rawr rawr” 1:31 - “do doo doo doo doo” The song reaches a low point when Bryan and Kane are “singing” together at the same time in this song, and it sounds more like they are goofing off then they are with singing. Particularly where it doesn’t make sense at 1:55 to 2:11. The delivery of this song (especially on Kane’s part) could have been so much better. As much as I love wrestling, this is as far as I can make it go without feeling sorry for myself, with my wrestling bias getting in the way for anything. #40 Israel Kamakawiwo'Ole - Somewhere Over The Rainbow Nominated By: ZaziGuado YouTube Link: Probably one of the hardest songs I had trouble with ranking in this topic. In all honesty? I didn’t really like this song. This guy is nowhere near as good as the magic it was Judy Garland did. I don’t find it ratifying that, the nature of the song was changed from a sympathetic song with cheery goodness to a…Hawaiian themed song with ukuleles that fit very so uncoordinated in a classic like this. It’s not the worst cover of this song I have ever heard of before but it’s nowhere near as close to the class and nature Judy did with in this song. His voice is just WAY TOO DEEP to get into and is nowhere near as infectious and pleasant as Judy did it. Israel never really evolves his craft in this song as, he hardly perks up his voice and make it seem like the song is more about negativity then positively. I do not like to hear people that sound like they’re having an emotional breakdown and sing at the same time. Now how does this song, get away like that with these flaws? Well I have to be a little sympathetic towards the guy as the man that sang this song is dead. I doubt I could toss this song aside without this coming up, after looking up more information about it. I definitely have heard worse musicians out there when I compare their talents to Israel, but this isn’t a dandy or my favorite version of the song “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” out there. But I will honor this song in the memory of him by getting in the Top 40 and I should also say may this man’s spirit live on. #39 Mr. Meizong - Hydrogenix (House) Nominated By: Ytterbium_70 YouTube Link: Well…this is…different. I like the echoing tempo in this song and how it picks up in pitch in time throughout all of it. Makes it very daunting. It’s disturbing, but proper as I can definitely see this fitting for someone’s laboratory or when someone is mixing chemicals together. Not sure if I would like it anywhere else outside of that though. Little Susie probably wouldn't like it if I played this to her at a zoo as she might throw her cotton candy at me. My only problem with the song is that, the thumping in the song can get to be a little obnoxious. Not to mention, that the song sounds like it was made from a computer program. But a good computer program nonetheless. Somewhat decent but not the greatest piece of art out there. #38 Curve - Already Yours Nominated By: SuorGenoveffa YouTube Link: That’s a creepy album cover. Are those broken body parts of Barbie Dolls scattered all over the place? I like the rock almost ska-punk like feeling of this song. Gives me good No Doubt vibes. The guitar solo plays itself out excellently in this song, but sometimes it feels like it gets out of hand sometimes while the song is playing. Sometimes the guitar solo is so loud, I can’t understand a single word that’s being said here in this song. Which is a shame since Toni Halliiday does a great job with doing the vocals here in this song. It’s very unusual to hear anything else like this, so it gets credit for it not being like any other song I had to review so far. I wished this song was more than just a random piece of instrumental and more like an actual song but the song itself is mildly delightful in some parts and pleasing enough, for me to warrant it some praise. You be the judge to see if it will be the same for you. #37 The Zombies - Time Of The Season Nominated By: CherryCokes YouTube Link: Another song I like to a decent extent. It’s very soothing. The funk effects in this song are upbeat and groovy and it gels very well together with the bass guitar that’s playing in the background, at the same time. Only real problem I had with this song, is that it’s more of a song that’s more fun to listen to than it is to sing. Doesn’t make it all that revolting or anything, but I would of have liked it better if I heard a song with the total package. The vocals are clean and simple enough to get into and make yourself act so carefree in the situation it’s trying to get yourself into. This doesn't break any new ground, but I’ll take what I can get with it. #36 Linda Eder - Vienna Nominated By: Vengeful_KBM YouTube Link: With this song we have now had every single user represented on this list at least once. (The last being from Vengeful_KBM) Sorry Vengeful, but it had to happen eventually. At least everyone is fair game now. Probably the song that will cause the most controversy here on this list. It’s a good song. But I do have to nitpick here with this, a little bit which holds this song back from getting any higher on the list, despite the fact that after hearing this, there was a lot of hard work and effort put into this song. What could that be? Honestly? I didn’t like how it felt more like it was the whole band you could hear in this song with them playing flutes and drums in the background more than you could hear Linda herself. I had to turn my speakers all the way up, to even hear her singing for the first minute or so of the song. Her tone of her voice is just too low in to get into and interested in the song she’s performing. The best parts of the song were probably when the drums, the guitar and the symphony were playing together at the same time in the song and in general, the nice variety of the instruments being used here in this song were a godsend. Since I see that this was a song described as being from LINDA EDER I wished her vocals in this song were felt more respected then it was like, she was overshadowed by the other people that were singing in this song. She has finance (is that the word?) but her work in this song just, fails to connect with me as her activity in this song, was just so barren that could of have been so much better. #35 Einhander OST - Zero Gravity Nominated By: Ace_Killjoy YouTube Link: …I liked it up until the opera part kicked in. It just feels weird to hear the voice of a woman in a song like this while the song is playing, as when this song is playing it happens during the final boss of the game. With all of humanity at stake, I don’t like it to hear something like this, that is trying to make the final boss in the game sound so relaxing than something that should be shrouded in mystery or frightening in terror. Kind of jacks up the suspense of the song. Otherwise this song is satisfactory. #34 Cloud Cult - Lucky Today Nominated By: ZaziGuado YouTube Link: Now this is where things FINALLY start to get a little interesting. I would say every song from this point on, is on the scale of things with what I would put it in the modest category. Or a 7/10 in the charts. These songs are not quite all that captivating, but at the very least I didn’t want to stop with giving these songs a single listen. Old time polka-rock. That’s something new. The cello and violin parts of this song are the definition of what you would call it comforting. It’s a nice song to give a listen to when you just want to relax. The only real drawback with this song is that it’s just too dang short. Works to it’s advantage though, as it’s unlike anything else I heard out there so there’s some positivity to it. Good song. Would be higher on the list if wasn’t too diminutive. Yeah. I’m good at using big words in my vocabulary. #33 Olivia Olson - I'm Just Your Problem Nominated By: RySenkari YouTube Link: Now here’s a song that would be higher on the list if it wasn't for a few certain circumstances I have against it. I NEVER have seen an episode of Adventure Time before. Not a single time until I was hearing this clip. I saw almost every single episode of Regular Show, but not Adventure Time. I should real soon. Well also, due to the fact the song is only one minute and 53 seconds long. The girl’s singing is serene, but this song can’t be ranked any higher than that with these reasons getting in the way, from preventing it getting ranked any higher. I like how the song itself is pretty goofy and good for a laugh sometimes though. What’s with this talk about the door? Shouldn't even ask. A little too brief to give a fair opinion about, so this is where it ends up. #32 Iamamiwhoami - Server Nominated By: SuorGenoveffa YouTube Link: This is the song where I would like call it “The Sasquatch Song" At any rate… This song is rather intriguing. It has a wild imagination to it, as while there’s a story that’s trying to be told here in this song, you have to make yourself wonder and guess what exactly is going on here in this song and figure it out. Don’t feel bad though. I don’t get the guy in the Sasquatch costume either. As for the song…well the vocals are definitely good to listen to, but some parts of the instrumental could have used better execution. It sounds like I’m listening to something that came out of a Fisher Price toy for the while when the song is playing. Still the song has some nice intrigue to it. Enough to wear I would find it worthy for me to listen to this song for more than once. Does the girl have to deal with living under house arrest or something? Is Sasquatch her butler? Well, this song thankfully didn’t bore me from beginning to end as I think there’s something refreshing and nice to see here. #31 Sabaton - Swedish Pagans Nominated By: Ytterbium_70 YouTube Link: Very akin to a song that could be used for a “radical” season of Survivor or for a pirate theme song. I LOVE the instrumental work here in this song. The electric guitar never lets up and the song is brought to life with enough energy to it to keep it alive and interesting from beginning to end. The vocals leave a whole lot to be desired though. They’re not bad per say, but more with the vocals could of have been better. After all, in a song like this, there’s chanting done by men here with deep voices in this song and little else. It also wouldn't be good to hear this outside anywhere in public, unless you were like at a Halloween party or something. I mean you wouldn't want this to be playing at your wedding recital or anything...right? This feels more like a novelty song than anything else but a good one at that. Unique enough to get where it is here in this countdown. Overall a good song. #30 HIRO-X - The Meaning Of Truth Nominated By: Ace_Killjoy YouTube Link: I wasn't expecting this to be from F-Zero. Wins bonus points for catching me off guard like that. This is a pretty decent rock song. The intro is great with a fantastic sounding guitar solo, with riffs that change periodically enough to give the song some nice…meaning to it. Enough to give the song at least a listen throughout all of it. 2:37 to 2:48 is the best part of the song with just a fetching guitar solo, playing by itself in the background with no other nonsense going off around it. Only real setback I have with this song is that I heard J-Rock like this before. Better? Definitely. Does it innovate the masses? No. But is it functional? Yes and I’ll sometimes take a song like this as good enough. You hear what’s your hear as there’s some moments of wonder here in this song. #29 Brent Black / Dave Bulmer - Super Mario Land With Lyrics Nominated By: Vengeful_KBM YouTube Link: I’m not too sure what to think about for this one. As a parody for mocking a video game I think it’s pretty good, but as an actual song though…I’m left divided on it. I don’t like how the “song” itself was turning into a dispute about a video game then hearing the joy of singing in the song. This is the kind of material you would hear that would put the end to a friendship. Seriously, just imagine trying to have this and your best friend sing along to and the results of it I’m sure couldn't be pretty. It doesn’t help it either that I’m not much a handheld gamer myself as I much prefer it if I was playing my games at home in a console than on the go. I also never did finish this game I believe. Still, some parts of the songs are good here for a chuckle. I never knew the fireballs in the instruction booklet were called “superballs” and 2:28 was pretty funny with Brent petting his laptop. This isn’t quite a stand out hit, but it’s proficient in the sum of it’s parts it gets done right. #28 Fantastic Plastic Machine - City Lights Nominated By: Kloggmonkey YouTube Link: There’s nothing out of the ordinary here this song does, but it’s well constructed piece of craft with nice beats of electronic piano and a saxophone playing in this song with a complete, pleasant jazz-funky beat to it. Lyrically it’s about what I expected to hear from a song like this. I mean it’s good, but in the tone of the song the lyrics are a bit too predictable, but also at the same time unique. It’s not often you hear a song like this about city lights. I mean you probably would want to hear more emphasis in this song than hear this talk about city lights I’m sure. This wins points for originality and while I wished this song could of have used a little more “oomph” to it, it’s a nice song with some nice instrumental punch to it. No more. No less. #27 Bump Of Chicken - Karma Nominated By: Raka_Putra YouTube Link: I think from this point on, the songs are get harder and harder for me to rank. I say all of these songs left in the running are at a least that of a strong “C+” or a weak “B-"rating. 7.5/10 is the ballpark I would give these next few songs I would have to rank. Good work with keeping this song hidden as I wasn't expecting this to be from a “Tales” game. Awesome guitar work. The guitar solo is a blessing. The song’s pretty good. Well…it would have been even better if it wasn’t for the Japanese vocals coming in and hindering the appeal I had with this song, down a few notches. I mean it’s not all that bad, I’m just against anything like this that is put in my music as it serves no relation to the country it is I’m from, (which is what I’m sure all of you should be proud of. Honoring your homeland.) With it just sounding weird when a song like this is coming through the radio with it, unlike regular music you hear in life. I don’t particularly care for VGM music that much to be honest with you. (That VGM topic I made with Ulti and XCarv three years ago is irrelevant to bring up a discussion with now.) That aside, this is a rather alluring tune that keeps me in the mood when I want to work out and get moving. A great workout-rock song if you will. Just something a little more adjusting to the times from the country it is that I was from would of had made this even better. An English dubbing of this song I’m sure wouldn't be that bad. #26 Shinhwa - Venus Nominated By: NioraptH YouTube Link: So this is what Asian boy bands look like. It’s like The Backstreet Boys meet Lady GaGa. It’s definitely a creative creation and very interesting to boot. I can’t understand a single thing, that’s being done here in this song so I’ll leave it up to my imagination to figure it out, and share it with you guys. Is the girl being resurrected from the dead or something? And their doing it by singing? And if they are than why is her body in a bath tub? Are those spikes in the bath tub? The effects in this music video are slick and give the band some nice personality with cool dance moves and good looks that would make One Direction look like they were going to be so yesterday. The changing beats in this song mesh well together with the changing rhythm in this song, as it also make it seem like the production values of this music video in the song, were never going to be an afterthought to work on. It’s cleverly planned out. Foreign work isn’t my exactly my cup of tea, but a project like this make me give me hope that dance music can at least get better in America. #25 Port Blue - In The Dolphin Tank Nominated By: ZaziGuado YouTube Link: Apparently the same guy that plays for Owl City (Adam Young) composed this song. This is a soothing little song. A little too serene and majestic for my taste, but it’s charm comes with it being (orchestrated?) and it being done very well. I’m reminded of the times where I would be sitting on the beach and stargazing in the middle of the night, before I’ve gone to bed. Even though I never did that before in my life. It’s also extremely short with it lasting for barely two minutes, but with it’s tone and setting I can’t knock it back that much, considering this is very laid back and something I like to hear often in my music. Good stuff. #24 Steam Powered Giraffe - Brass Goggles Nominated By: Simoun YouTube Link: That had to be some expensive make-up. I liked this song, but it could of have used some better execution. It feels like it sticks it’s head more into the distance than it does with keeping it up high. This is unique with an upbeat folk-rock like edge to it, but too much of this song feels like, the lyrics in this song in particular, were carelessly written down and thrown together in the song as an attempt with trying to make it interesting but not really succeeding with it. Christopher Andrew “Bunny” Bunnett’s singing in this song gets WAY too much interrupted by the back-up vocals in this song. (That person being from Michael Philip Reed.) It kills some appeal here in this song and just screams the lyrics were created as throwaway, lazily and a bit of drag, to listen to while you were trying to give this song the time of day. Really? Also 3:31 to 3:47 is a prime example of this song turning itself into more of a clustered mess then a true masterpiece. Despite those complaints, this song does have some merit to it, but those reasons like that with what I said earlier, hold this song back and why I can’t rank it any higher than this. #23 Chicago (movie) - We Both Reached for The Gun Nominated By: Raka_Putra YouTube Link: What a kooky little song. This song is very original with it thankfully not being like anything else I heard out there so far. I like how the song describes itself, the issues and differences in a relationship and not in some kind of demented way about pregnancy but with comedic value. I also am mighty fond of the presentation in this song. Taking place at a press conference and at an indoors theater at the same time, is eye popping and (John Kander…is that right?) describes his relationship with Roxie in this song, with what is real and not fake from the heart. My only problem I had with this song is that, there are some bits of loose cannon in this song that ruin some of the flow from running very well in this song. I wished things were better described in this, as I was left confused as I wondered how Roxie came alive. How did she transform herself from a puppet to a human being? Regardless this strikes itself right out of center field. I can’t help it, but find the appeal here in this song to be pretty good. Solid song. #22 NemesisTheory - Heavenly Horrors Nominated By: SSBDarren64 YouTube Link: I like this song. It’s the perfect kind of song to hear when you have to get a boss battle done and out of your way. Nice spice and variety. Last minute and a half of it was fantastic. Bonus points for being orchestrated. Only problem with this is that this is still just a you-know-how-it-will-turn-out VGM song. Not that it makes it revolting or anything, but songs like this just pale in comparison to the competition out there that are more of the real deal. #21 Kenny Loggins - I'm Free (Heaven Helps The Man) Nominated By: RySenkari YouTube Link: These songs are REALLY getting harder and harder for me to rank. I say, all of these remaining songs in the field are at least 8/10 material and I wouldn't go as far to say my number one song was decided, because some of these songs just lack one thing over the #1 pick. I’ll have you guys figure out what that is. That said… The Footloose guy huh? Man if you had nominated “Footloose” that would have easily made the Top 5. While this isn’t a crown jewel that also Kenny Loggins made, this is still a great song in the scheme of things. The guitar solo is sick and flows perfectly in well with the song as his voice fades out in the background, and then spring out to life when Loggins is coming back in the song, and sing at the top of his lungs. Loggins is his own individual. He’s one a kind and unlike anybody else out there so hence the high ranking. He just misses out on in being in as an Alpha in this list because, I feel like the verse in this song does gets repetitive to hear after a while. More to it would have been nice. What’s with the sound of girls being heard in the background and shouting “HOT BREAD!”…? Not quite a platinum hit but it definitely strikes gold. #20 Alex Winston - Velvet Elvis Nominated By: ZaziGuado YouTube Link: Margaret Hamilton would be so proud. I like this. It’s definitely different and very incomparable to anything else here on this list. I like this song’s spunk as it immediately catches my attention with a verse like “Kill the b**** that bats an eye” It sets itself up as a song with strange curiosity to it and it stays itself like that from beginning to end. It’s very unpredictable and that’s a good thing. My only beef with this song is that, I’m just not a fan of the Banjo. It’s not one of my favorite instruments out there and I don’t like it how this Winston chick didn’t identify herself more in the song. Most of her work in this song can get to be overlooked, as she’s singing for a majority of the time in this song with the Banjo playing in the background at the same time. Simply put the Banjo is a little overused in this song. That said, I thought this was a great song. Winston has a chance with becoming a great one day. It’s just a matter of time to see where she can go from here and if she can do more than this. Best of luck to her. #19 Nogizaka46 - Aitakatta Kamo Shirenai Nominated By: Raka_Putra Dailymotion Link: lol Dailymotion Before I talk about this song, let me just say that I don’t find it attractive when I see 13-year old Japanese girls using Samsung or Apple American products. The Japanese are crazy enough mofos to create their own technology out the wazoo, that would be enough for keeping them rich and find products like this that are created from America to be completely useless to them. At any rate…this song is rather fine with what it does. I don’t get the message this song is trying to tell me, but I don’t think I do with any of these Japanese songs. The guitar riffs are sweet and get me up jumping. Only other problem with this song is that some of the lyrics in the song are beyond senseless. The “Lalalalala lalalalala. Lalalalala lalalalala.” verse in particular, is as much of a throwaway as ever. At the end of the day however, the song does enough right which captivated me from beginning to end with it’s originality that I found it charming enough to be where I put it in the countdown. #18 Wendy Moten - Whatever You Imagine Nominated By: RySenkari YouTube Link: Oh my god…Oh my god…my childhood is coming back. I loved this movie! Okay probably not the best way to defend this movie since I haven’t seen this since Elementary School, but with what I can remember it, was that Whoopi Goldberg was in it and the movie was starting itself out as a live-action film and then turning itself all animated. This is one of those songs where it comes from an era where anybody can instantly understand it and get it. I like how the song builds itself up like a Disney song and then becomes complete with a symphony orchestra coming in, and coming together to create an amusing little tune to hear. Inside and out. This is a song that is let down with it being something I may have grown myself out of, but it’s a nice song to hear when your reflecting yourself and looking yourself back in the past. A sweet song with an endearing beat. #17 Exile - Indestructible Nominated By: NioraptH YouTube Link: This song huh? I can remember hearing this song for the first time like it was yesterday. I was watching the Gametrailers review of Street Fighter 4 on their website (before the site became to be Gametwitters.) and falling in love with the song, when the review was going on that had this song playing in the background. The review itself was done by the voice of Brandon Jones. Yeah...you get to learn about something new like that since I’m sure everyone is familiar with this song (that has at least played Street Fighter 4 at any rate.) I wasn’t a fan of Brawl’s orchestral opening and neither was I the same with any of Soul Calibur’s but this takes the cake. It’s a great work-out, get moving, getting s**t done rock song. The vocals are never really irritating but just a little cheesy to sit through. It’s something I don’t mind with it being from a video game after all, particularly a fighting game. This is a great song if you ask me and the least it does is not being a rock song that’s offends me in some way. A bit of a guilty pleasure you can say. #16 Asian Kung Fu Generation – Rewrite Nominated By: Mega Mana YouTube Link: From Full Metal Alchemist huh? I never have seen the show before so I might give it a shot one day, but perhaps I won’t considering action-adventure anime isn’t my forte. As for the song though, I think it’s great. The song succeeds with playing a smooth and crisp guitar solo that is captivating to hear and come alive, thanks to the magnificent vocals lead singer Masafumi Goto does in this song. The changing pitch in this song along with the guitar instrumental playing in well consistently together are what help it set apart from other Japanese songs on this list. Only problem with it is that, it’s not a song that is sung in the same language I speak. I have to deduct a few points off it because of that, but then again I can’t be too harsh on it since rock songs are severely lacking in this list. #15 Of Monsters and Men - Little Talks Nominated By: Justin_Crossing / Walker YouTube Link: 35 million views and this is my first time hearing this band. Looks like you hear something new every day. At any rate I like this. It reminds me of Gotye. Which is a song I’m pretty sure we are all have used to know before right? Nanna Bryndis Hilmarsdottir’s (The girl’s) vocals in this song are the true highlights of this song and the guy in this song, Ragner “Raggi” Borhallsson also does a pretty job of singing in this song as the both of them, carry on with keeping this song afloat and interesting from beginning to end. I wished there was a little more action going on here in this song, as it doesn't get enticing enough with the in-the-middle-of-the-air-battles and people floating back into the sky from a glacier (parts in the video) where it could have used a little more depth to it… But I shouldn’t be all that picky like that. I know I can be like that sometimes. That said this is a great song that’s worth watching for more than it’s creativity but, also for it’s class. #14 Go Shiina (Tales Of Legendia OST) - Chasing Shirley Nominated By: NioraptH YouTube Link: This is like one of those songs you hear at a fancy English buffet or gathering. I like this. The Tales games always have offered more great songs to hear from their soundtracks, then bad ones and this one is no exception. I love the complete style and class of this song. The piano and violin score arrangements are gold and play in perfect matrimony together. My only problem with this song is that, I wished the arrangement of this played out a little longer. A little too short to be unblemished. It’s only about a 1 minute and 40 seconds long when you don’t count putting the song on replay. This is a darn fine track otherwise. #13 Shnabubula - II Welcome To The Games Nominated By: MycroProcessor YouTube Link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=NX5V_KzJGts Nice groovy, funky 16-bit composition. Very Sonic like. The bits and pieces of music that play throughout here in this song range in from a little bit of everything. There’s bound to a tune here or two that you will like and draw your into with, what it can sound like one of those old SNES/Sega Genesis games you played back in the day. It’s very heart-warming, well-constructed stuff. Anyone looking to feel like thinking about something nostalgic is bound to find this song enjoyable. My favorite part of this was from 4:43 to 4:58. Sounds like one of those boss battle themes you hear while you’re duking it out in space. I don’t want to spoil to rest of the song to you but this is great stuff to listen to. Nostalgic buffs will eat this up and appreciate it if you’re like me. #12 Chicago (band) - Dialogue Nominated By: Vengeful_KBM YouTube Link: So there’s the “musical” Chicago AND the “band” Chicago. Well it takes all kinds to be accepted here in this countdown. This blend and mix of hard rock and jazz fusion in this song is great. This is a song, where it has nice instrument variety to it and it doesn't fool itself around with trying to be something it’s not. It’s a song straight up and it stays that way like that from beginning to end. Unlike “Family Affair” there’s an actual group of people here that are working together with, making this song a hit and they succeed themselves with trying to do that. Too bad it only reached #24 on the Billboard Hot 100, but then again it was 1972 back then. The large group of choir singing in this song at the same time when there’s a guitar instrumental going off in the song, playing in the background, blend so well together that make this song so good. It’s a pleasing song to hear and after this song, this makes me want to do some more research on these guys and see what they are like since my Dad grew up with him. Due to my unfamiliarity with this band, this is what causes me to rank this outside the Top 10. More consideration from this band needs to be taken before I could do so. Sorry. Is this their best song by the way…? #11 VHS Head - Death Dimension Nominated By: Shadosneko YouTube Link: This is trippy. I like it. Very good song. I’m going for a major right now in Astronomy and for my minor right now at the moment it’s going to be in Political Science. Of course everything in College, can change but as of right now that’s my plan and as you can tell, I’m into a lot of space-y stuff out there like this. Sound effects like shooting lasers, breaking glass and synchronizers give the song some nice personality along with a Mortal Kombat announcer coming in and breaking up monotony in this song with uttering words in the song like “shrouded mist” and “death from the earth” and “the final phase…in excruciating nature” I like the background effects in this video. I’m reminded of myself with looking through kaleidoscopes and enjoying the pretty colors that pop out one, or getting a look at some very cool looking computer animated screen savers. So comforting. Only problem with this song? Some of the background effects in this video, do repeat themselves a little too often in this song as It was this was a completely original from beginning to end. It’s a great song though. It has some nice funk and fancy pizzazz to it so I can't really take stab like that to this song very much. #10 My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic - This Day Aria Nominated By: Vengeful_KBM YouTube Link: Dammit Vengeful. I haven’t seen the end of Season 2 yet. >_< I skipped over this episode all together and jumped into the Season 3 premiere with not having any idea who Princess Cadance was until that episode that had Twilight Sparkle and her friends go out to protect her, her brother and The Crystal Empire. At first, I thought this song was being sung by the same character with two different voice actors. Which I found really weird but then I discovered the plot of this episode, which I will not go into much more detail about it as it is. I love this song. Princess Cadance (Britt McKillip) does an excellent job with singing in this song and while Queen Chrysalis (Kathleen Barr) isn’t quite as strong as her as she sounds a little too manly in this song to relish (No wonder as she did the voice of Kevin from Ed, Edd N Eddy.) she does a great job with keeping the song to be dramatic, when it needs to be with her being the villain and handling the high notes in this song better than McKillip did. This song has a very nice life threatening and unique setting to it as it feels strange, but entertaining as hell to see two women cause misery to each other at a wedding. It’s very unique and dramatic to say the least but also with what I can say about this song is that I really like it. #9 Tycho - Hours Nominated By: SSBDarren64 YouTube Link: Great song. I love the complete care free nature of this song. It has a unique and nice Hawaiian beat to it. The instruments here in this song are abundant and bring the song to life with a good amount of personality. A very soothing and moral boosting like song. It’s not overly complex, but straight up simple to get into and enjoy hearing a song like this, that is something very feel good in nature and in someone’s life. I would like to hear this the next time I am taking a shower. But I can’t because no one would be able to change the shower head’s sound adjustment speed. Yet people can make it hotter or colder…or come out slower or faster. Not enough to make much significance I know, but the point still stands... Anything with this song playing nearby the water can make this song sound even better. Well this is a very good, well-mannered song to sum it up as quickly as I can say about it in thirty words or less. Of course thirty words isn’t exactly, much of a restriction to put here when typing up a sentence but whatever. A great song at the end of the day. #8 Calvin Harris ft. Florence Welch - Sweet Nothing Nominated By: mcflubbin YouTube Link: Calvin Harris…heard of his name before but I didn’t hear an actual song by him before until now. That opening verse at the beginning of the song had freaked me out for a minute as I envisioned hearing this song to be another song that had a guy sound like a woman. Thank god that wasn’t the case. It was just Florence Welch doing all of the vocal work here in this song. As for the song I think it’s terrific. I like the execution of the electronica beats in this song. Their used properly (and not tossed around like some kind of afterthought) and in unique ways to make this song, an appropriate blessing to listen to. Florence’s vocals in this song are also fantastic. She’s also a very beautiful woman I may add. An unparalleled and unique song. Real solid dance almost part funk like song. #7 Florence + The Machine - Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) Nominated By: Justin_Crossing / Walker YouTube Link: I don’t understand the story here in this song at all, but I given up with trying as I have as there are TOO MANY songs nominated in this thing that are just like that I wouldn't want to start now. This leaves a blissful smile on my face as I really like this. It’s incredibly original, with an instrument that I rarely if ever hear any more in a song (that harp instrumental in this song is beast.) Florence just has this so cute and innocent demeanor to her, while she’s singing there’s nothing I can do about it but help pay attention to her and respect her work with she’s done with her career so far. MORE OF THIS PLEASE. Her voice is so clear and beautiful in this song, parts of it are very memorable thanks to her voice being so playful and loud. Only misses out on making the Top 5 because this is just really weird to see her have her body laid out, floating in the water, from a table cloth they just finished eating on, with food still covering on the table cloth that is getting on her, where they could have been a little civilized and cleaned the table cloth off before sending her off into the river and...and… Whatever. Well enough said. This is an excellent song. #6 Jasan Radford - Run Around Nominated By: Mega Mana YouTube Link: That may just be the most horrible misspelling of the name "Jason" I have ever seen in my life. This song’s going to suck. *clicks YouTube Link* Instant Top 10 material. I don’t care how simplistic and meaningless the lyrics are in in this song. This song is awesome. This is loud, energizing rock music that takes me back to my days when I was in 2nd Grade and…watching the second season of Digimon. No pun intended. Oh the irony. I actually first heard this song before in one episode of the anime, before watching the movie. I think it was during the Raidramon episode when Agumon went all bad. That wins points for being where I first heard this song as that was where, Season 2 started to get a little better for me as Davis, thankfully grew a little more timid as the season went on as it occurred in the same episode where he had to rescue T.K.’s Patamon. OH MY GOD. Do you know what’s also true? I’m such a nerd. I can’t get tired of this song. It never loses it’s luster with me as, the guitar work in this song is awesome and changing pitch when it appropriately needs to be in this song. A very good and nostalgic song. #5 Donald Fagen - The Goodbye Look Nominated By: TheCodeisBosco YouTube Link: This is a cute little song. It has a nice jazz-rock almost surf rock like beat to it. I like this. His flirtatious talk in this song is a marveling highlight, throughout all of this. His smooth and ladies man talk persona in this song, give it something that’s so fresh I like about it and what makes it so different, than anything else that was nominated in this thing. I only wished this Fagen guy had more of an identity to him. I looked his name up everywhere on the internet, and I could hardly find anything about him. More of this guy other than working on just one album (correct me if I’m wrong) would have been nice. With that said this is a cute little song with a flamboyant hook to it. #4 Haddaway - What Is Love? Nominated By: ZaziGuado YouTube Link: I HATE YouTube annotations. I’ll never figure out what the purpose of them are with people abusing them the wrong way they can do sometimes, like the guy that did it with making them in this video. Lame excuse for people that should be using them appropriately, as they were too lazy to put any last minute finishing touches on their video to make it complete and publish it on the internet. Oh yes the song. At any rate, this song here is a classic. EVERYONE has heard of this song before at some point or another in their life. This has aged surprisingly really well I should say for it’s time. Much better than a lot of other 90’s dance songs I hear coming out on the radio sometimes when it is I occasionally hear it. What could be said about this song, has already pretty much been said about it already. It’s a groovy, fun, booty popping, good time dance song. It’s appropriate with pretty much everyone (Yes. Including Grandma.) and which while the song is old as it can and probably played off the deep end, it works to it’s advantage with being a “family-friendly” dance song as you hear NOTHING like this on the radio today. This is a marvel of art and a true classic in the music industry and what helps it get to be so high up the marks here in this list. #3 Imagine Dragons - It's Time Nominated By: Justin_Crossing / Walker YouTube Link: This is a candidate for my favorite song of the year. No joke. Is that a mandolin I hear? This is a great folk-rock song. I particularly like it when I hear the foot tapping in the instrumental and nothing else. Builds constant tension in the song and unleashes it in a blast filled with variety and charm. Great band name (Imagine Dragons?) I love dragons. Especially Spyro The Dragon. ^_^ With this thankfully for being a song that came out this year, it’s not hard for me to judge against this song. I love to hear music in modern time. And what I mean by that is hearing songs that came out in 2012. Just like this masterpiece. This verse in particular is what made me fall in love with the song. A fantastic, piece of material from a new debuted band like this. #2 Stephen Sondheim – Meadowlark Nominated By: Vengeful_KBM YouTube Link: The surprise when I first thought it would be a guy that would be singing this song. Then my smile turned to glee. In a rush or something Vengeful? At any rate I loved this. I honestly can’t tell any of these Disney or somewhat Disney Princesses’s like voices apart (yeah I know Anastasia isn’t one) so I did my research for this song, and I see this was sung by Liz Callaway. The person who was responsible for the voice of Anastasia. She’s beautiful here. This song is very elegant, supreme, magnificent and breathtaking to watch with someone so talented like Callaway to perform for me to watch through YouTube. I love how her voice and the instrumental itself here in tempo, near the end of the song pick up with Callaway doing a great time that people mostly doing in singing in their song, and have their song end with the lack of a catchy chorus line or verse in this song that I would find unmemorable. That isn’t the case with what Stephen…I mean Liz does here in this song. You are so getting to get many jokes for this song now because of that misconception. If it wasn't for the fact that Anastasia WASN'T a favorite movie of mine THIS would of gotten honors as being #1 on the list. That said I can’t disregard anything here with this song as it’s nothing but startling. #1 Tim Halperin - I Don't Want To Grow Up Nominated By: Simoun YouTube Link: At long last at the end of five or so weeks we are FINALLY at the end of the conclusion in this list. What better way to end it with a song like this? Now THIS is what I’m talking about and this is the kind of music I love. An almost actual song that is poking fun at pop culture? I’m hitting the replay button as we speak. The lyrics in this song speak the very truth and are extremely catchy to get into. Tim’s voice echoing in and out of this song is very a unique touch. I turn 19 later this month and I feel like I’m not growing up at all. Times have changed especially a lot for me, when growing up and being alive for almost two decades. This is a prime example of that and what I would like to express myself to be. I have intelligence and living a better life then a lot of other people out there right now and while I want to go out and have fun in my life, I HATE to hear this talk of seeing boy-bands and rap music taking over the music industry, hardly any good cartoons to watch anymore and seeing “adults” now my age making babies in the bedroom and everyone competing with each other with trying to get as many friends as they can on Facebook. It didn’t used to be such an internet craze now as it did back then. I LOVE it to hear a guy like Tim Halperin express something like that in a song. “Everything changed but the boy bands…stayed." is a particular highlight in the song for anyone like me that was growing up in the 90’s. The song ends perfectly with a beautiful and delighting verse from Tim with “GROOOOHHHH UP!” ending the song up with what is the utmost thing to hear. This is a song I like to hear anywhere in my day. And if a song can do that (which most of the time a song can’t do) you know I would be happy to excavate myself in listening to it and treat it like a god send. Which is what this song does. I could write a report of this song down if I wanted to. At the end of the day though, this gives me something different I rarely if ever hear anymore and treat it and try to spread the word around to it where music like this should be and become more popular. Just a fantastic and astonishing song. Thanks Simoun.
