Sunshine Kite Company opened in 1974 on the Redondo Beach Pier. The first 20 years Randy Joe owned the shop, Randy was an early innovator of sports kites in the late 70's, and currentely continues to be an innovator in the kite industry, manufacturing and designing kites for the new division of X-Concepts of Escondido CA, X-Kites. In 1999 Randy moved to the manufacturing side, and Tom Fine and his wife took over. They started the yo-yo classes in 2003, and have had great success with lots of participation most recently they have been running a spring yo-yo contest. On Saturdays the Sunshine Kite Company offers Yo-Yo and Diaoblo classes. They are located on the Redondo Beach Pier, 110 Fisherman’s Wharf, Redondo Beach, California 90277.
