The F/S-400 Shaska was a human A/X interceptor. Initially developed in 2496 in the aftermath of Operation: CHARLEMAGNE to act as planetary defense fighters and shipborne interceptors to fight back against Insurrectionist warships, the Shaska began production in 2502 after extensive trials, and was assigned mainly to ship complements and planetary defense units in the Outer Colonies. The craft proved to be a very effective asset against rebel ships without AI control of their point-defense guns, leading to the craft's eventual adoption by UNSC Air Force detachments in the Inner Colonies.

abstract
| - The F/S-400 Shaska was a human A/X interceptor. After a scandal involving multiple attempted sales of equipment, including F/S-400s with their specially designed nuclear-tipped rockets to the United Rebel Front by Colonial Military Administration personnel in 2518, most of the CMA's non-obsolete equipment, including their F/S-400s, was transferred to UNSC units. In 2531, after repeated failures by the craft to effectively fight against Covenant Type-31 Seraphs, the remainder were placed in UNSC Air Force reserve units or returned to the CMA, sans the nuclear-tipped rockets.
