One of the least-discussed contest happenings is the gradual decline of Alucard. As great as he was pulling all those upsets in the first two contests, he's really done nothing since. He has one win in three years, against GoW Kratos -- and it's tough to even imagine him pulling off that win again, for some reason. Alucard has kind of degenerated into fodder for high-end midcarders, which sucks. But we all love Alucard, so we'll never concede the current Alucard likely being the true colors all along.

Actual results seem good enough, but then you remember that Alucard is stuck behind that whacked out Snake/Sora match from 2005 and wonder WTF is up with him. No one views Snake/Sora as being legit, yet Alucard's warped number is what we saw in the match against Auron. Either Snake/Sora was legit, or Alucard is going downhill in a hurry. Poor guy. It was bound to happen eventually though, given that SOTN is getting old in a hurry regardless of how good it is. Or we could just slap KH2F on this match and move on. Auron's intro in that game is really one of the most badass things I've ever seen.
