The Chicoutimi Saguenéens finished first overall in the regular season, winning their first Jean Rougeau Trophy, backstopped by Goaltender of the Year and Playoff MVP, Félix Potvin. Chicoutimi won its first President's Cup, defeating the Drummondville Voltigeurs in four games.
