Wouri → German. Wouri is a traditional mancala game played by the Malinké in Mali. The Malinké, also known as Mandinka or Mandingo, number more than 11 million people. Today, over 99% of them are Muslim. The game was first described in an unpublished IFAN ("Institut Fondamental d'Afrique Noire") paper written by Koné Moussa in the early 1950s. He learnt the game in the city of Mopti, Mali. Wouri is a variant of Ba-awa. Any group of four seeds is captured by the player who is sowing at the moment.
