In the mirror universe, the Talarian Republic was a government state located in the Alpha Quadrant. It was an enemy of the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance. In January 2377, Miles "Smiley" O'Brien, the leader of the Terran Rebellion, sent the Defiant under the command of Commander Leeta to negotiate with the Talarian Republic in an attempt to create a pact against the Alliance. Leeta was able to convince the Talarians to aid the Rebellion and Endar led his people in a battle with the Alliance at Terok Nor. (DS9 novel: The Soul Key)

Leeta was able to convince the Talarians to aid the Rebellion and Endar led his people in a battle with the Alliance at Terok Nor. (DS9 novel: The Soul Key) The attack on the Alliance fleet at Terok Nor marked the beginning of a brief war with the Klingons. After a matter of weeks, the war ended with the complete defeat of the Talarians, though by this time the Alliance was beginning to dissolve due to the significant deterioration in relations between the Klingons and the Cardassians.
