Synopsis
| - During the Battle of Metropolis, Doctor Psycho mentally forced a number of civilians to slaughter the Hangmen. Now Kate Spencer is defending him in court, as Director Bones wants her to get close to Doctor Psycho. The legal manipulations she must stoop to wears on her, as she discredits witness after witness, including Doctor Mid-Nite. Meanwhile Mark Shaw is hit with a drugged dart while he is out running, and the mysterious serial killer Sweeney Todd murders again. During a recess Kat Spencer asks Doctor Mid-Nite to take a sample of her blood, in the hopes she can finally discover whether or not Al Pratt is her grandfather.

Notes
| - * This issue, in flashback, is a Battle of Metropolis tie-in.
* The Hangmen, although confirmed deceased in this issue at the hands of Doctor Psycho, will later be revealed to be alive during the events of Final Crisis: Revelations, explaining to Libra that Psycho was paid to help them fake their own deaths. They are shortly afterwards killed by an enraged Spectre.
