Held prisoner in a hut, Livia watches as the Bakalah tribe dances and feasts with their obese king Bajujh. Conan and his Bamulas enter and the two leaders size each other up before Bajujh, smiling, welcomes Conan and invites the men to participate. The men sit and drink and revel until Bajujh needs to be unceremoniously dragged to his hut and the Bamulas are escorted to the guest lodgings. Livia sneaks out of her hut when the guard falls asleep and creeps to Conan's to seek his help. Conan catches her sulking near his hut and pulls her inside where she tells him she is a captive slave and begs Conan to help her, even offering herself to him. Conan has no interest in Livia but will help her because he doesn't trust Bajujh, who has asked for Conan's partnership in attacking another tribe. Co

Conan has no interest in Livia but will help her because he doesn't trust Bajujh, who has asked for Conan's partnership in attacking another tribe. Conan figures Bajujh will betray his so he is going to act first. He sends Livia back to her hut and the next morning attacks the Bakalah. Livia watches the carnage in horror and runs away, taking a horse that had been released in the chaos. Unfortunately, her horse throws her after a short ride and she becomes lost. A group of silent women approach, and their very touch paralyzes Livia. They take her to a stone altar and soon a flying beast swoops into view. Just before it can reach Livia, Conan springs into view and attacks the monster. After a brutal fight, the creature is wounded and flies away and Conan tells Livia he is not going to claim her, just have her escorted home.
