The Kaloth-class Battlecruiser is an older model capital ship, dating back to the days before the Rebel Alliance was formally created. It can carry a compliment of six starfighters and two shuttles, though this configuration has frequently been altered by tech crews working on the vessels. Few of these ships remain in service, and unlike the Nebulon-B Frigate, the Kaloth Battlecruiser has fallen to obscurity. Many are currently in the hands of pirate crews, such as the Survivors, and the Cavilrhu Pirates, or are in the hands of wealthy private collectors, though few are in what could be called good repair. On the other hand, some ships, such as the Harmzuay used by Thalassian Slavers have been heavily modified to pack a much more powerful punch than the stock model.

abstract
  • The Kaloth-class Battlecruiser is an older model capital ship, dating back to the days before the Rebel Alliance was formally created. One of the most unusual features of the Kaloth-class are the two tractor beam mandibles extending out from the front of the ship. This feature, while narrowing the projecting arcs of the beams, means that the ship can easily 'latch on' to any unsuspecting vessel, contributing to its use by pirates. The ship is naturally slow in both sublight and hyperspace, though many have been modified to go faster. Its weaponry is higher than its distant cousin, the Nebulon-B, but its shielding and armor is similarly lower by comparison.
