| - Drake: Seems like we are staying here tonight. Jon: Yep. Jon: Hey, are there any rooms available for us four trainers? Receptionist: There is one room, but it would be cramped with four trainers staying in it. Jon: That’ll be fine. Thanks. Jon: She wasn’t kidding about cramped. Drake: Nope, don’t think she was. Jon: Right, the girls take the bed and we’ll take the sofa. Jon: Tapu Koko? Tapu Koko: Koko Ko K K Ko. Jon: You want to battle me? Tapu Koko: Tapu Koko ko Ko Pu. Jon: After I defeat the Island Kahuna? Jon: Then we will give you a battle to remember. Jon: Well we have a good amount of training to do. Typhlosion: Phlosion. Rotom-Dex: Zzt, the guardian deity is very strong. Zzt. Jon: I get that. Jon: This is a great sunrise. Drake: Morning. Jon: Morning. April: Shall we continue? Jon: What’s wrong Officer Jenny? Jenny: There is bit of a road block. We are hurrying to get it moved. Hala: I see. Mary: Hala. Hala: It’s good to see you. Jon: Typhlosion, let’s go! Hala: What are you doing?! Jon: Use the ledge on the left and jump off it to catch the worker! Hala: Now they are both in trouble. Jon: We’ve got this! Drake: Really?! Jon: Yep. Shadow Claw! Jon: Great work Typhlosion! Hala: That was stupid! Jon: We had it! Hala: Even so, you should never put your Pokemon in that danger! April: Typhlosion had it. You were going to use a Pokemon, weren’t you Kahuna. Hala: True, but I knew what I was going to do. Jon: You may not have liked my method, but Typhlosion and I have a strong bond, and this is a strengthened point as you have seen our form. Hala: Hm. Worker: Thank you both of you for saving me. Typhlosion: Phlo! Jenny: I have to admit, that was stupid, but the road will be blocked for a while. Mary: Jon, I’ve wondered how you and Typhlosion became partners. You did say you live in Hoenn. Jon: Yeah I do. Drake: Surely you would have gone with Treecko, Mudkip or Torchic. Jon: Nope. My friend Tyler and I always wanted to travel with each other and we both wanted Cyndaquil and Totodile. So, Johto was a perfect fit, as Tyler lives in Johto. Hala: I see. So you travelled around Johto first. Jon: Yeah. We had a lot of fun and a lot of training. I got a lot of Pokemon friends too. Mary: When did Cyndaquil evolve? Jon: Cyndaquil evolved during our seventh gym battle against Pryce. It was Cyndaquil against Piloswine, but Pryce’s Piloswine evolved into Mamoswine and was very powerful. Cyndaquil tried, but no matter what, we couldn’t overpower Mamoswine. That’s when Cyndaquil and I wanted to win more than ever and Cyndaquil felt this and evolved into Quilava and we beat Pryce. Drake: Cyndaquil evolved just like that? Hala: Pokemon evolve at different times. When there are some heated battles, Pokemon look towards evolution to boost their power. Sometimes their new found power becomes too much, but Pokemon can gain this power when they have a strong bond with their Trainer. Jon: Right. Typhlosion: Ty! April: Where did you go after Johto? Did you come straight to Alola? Jon: Nope. Along my travels in Johto, I obtained a Mega Ring. But I wanted to learn more about Mega Evolution so I decided to travel to Kalos. Drake: I’ve heard Kalos was the first place where Mega Evolution took place. Jon: It is believed so. Hala: What happened when you got there? Jon: As soon as we arrived in Kalos, we got attacked by Team Flare in Lumiose City. They were after Professor Sycamore. We tried to hold them off but we couldn’t. That’s when Quilava evolved into Typhlosion. Drake: So more power was obtained. Jon: Yeah, however this is when Typhlosion’s mysterious power of Bond Phenomenon happened. But back then we have no idea what it was, and we couldn’t control it. Mary: When did you learn to control it? Jon: It took a long time, but finally in Anistar City, we were battling Team Flare and one of my new friends, Joe, turned out to be a member of Team Flare. This made me snap and Typhlosion felt it and that’s when Typhlosion’s fiery orb went into a fire shuriken. However, as soon as it happened, we both froze. Drake: Froze? Jon: Yeah. It was weird. Everything turned white but soon we saw an ancient land where a man and his Typhlosion was battling another Pokemon and they had the same bond we do. However, this man called for his Typhlosion to use Shuriken Blaze. And then we were back in Anistar City. Hala: So you saw it in your mind? Jon: Yeah. It was so strange. April: But since then, you could control your form? Jon: With ease. Mary: This is strange. Hala: What part? Mary: The part where Jon and Typhlosion both saw this man in the past. Jon: It is now you mention it. Strangely, after that vision, Typhlosion could use Shuriken Blaze with ease. Jon: And after the Kalos League, we wanted to come to Alola. Though there were some problems in Hoenn which were easily sorted. Typhlosion: Phlo, Typhlosion. Jon: True, I did get asked to be the new fire type gym leader in Hoenn. Drake: Really?! Jon: Yeah. So after travelling around Alola, we are going to be in the gym full time. Hala: So you have your journey and ideals set out then. Jon: Yep. But first we need to beat the Alola trials. Jenny: Thank you for your patience, the road is now clear. April: Sweet. Now you can take part in your Island Trial Jon. Jon: Yep! Even though I have no idea what it will be like. Hala: You will have a bit of a challenge, but you’l ultimately enjoy it. Hala: I better be off to Iki Town. Drake: We best set off to if we want to get to Verdant Cavern. Mary: Right. Narrator: After a road block trapped their progression along route 2, Jon and Typhlosion saved a worker who fell off the edge of the cliff. Later on, Jon told everyone, including Hala, about his journey so far, from Johto to now, in Alola. With the road block cleared, our heroes are now on their way to Verdant Cavern, the site of the first trial.
