- The Forge (kaeteru in Japanese) is the main training facility of Renraku's Red Samurai. It is based in Chiba, Japan. Potential candidates for the Red Samurai are sent to The Forge for a two year training program. During the first six months, trainers evaluate the candidates and assign them to squads that complement their strengths and weaknesses. In the next year and a half, the candidates are trained to function in a five man squad. They are taught military tactics, and the squad persists after graduation from The Forge, forming a surrogate family for the newly graduated Samurai.
