Ray Soliz is a drug dealer, working with Octavio Escondero to move his shipments. In 1989 Soliz's brother Miguel visited a pool shop looking for something to clean the algae, insects, etc. and is sold a bogus cleaning system by Jack Crockett. When the unit predictably malfunctions, Soliz sent for Jack to fix it, refund his money, or risk bodily harm. Jack (later confronted by Harry Grubbs, to whom he owes money) returns to Soliz's place, "disguised" in a mouse mask and takes $50,000 at gunpoint from Soliz, who later tracked Jack down (from his pink shoes/socks) and demanded the money returned or else. Jack gave Soliz back his money after he re-took the $50,000 from Grubbs, but it was all in counterfeit money, printed by Escondero, and Jack (and his cousin policeman, James "Sonny" Crockett)
