Nicholas Jerome Angerrard (born September 9, 1928) is a retired American politician who served for twenty-four years as U.S. Senator for Connecticut, from 1977-2001. Previously, Angerrard served as a U.S. Representative for Connecticut's 2nd District for six years and also sat in the Connecticut State Senate from 1963-1971. Angerrard was the Vice Presidential nominee for the Democratic Party in 1984 and unsuccessfully ran for President in 1988. He briefly considered running in 1992, but eventually decided not to due to the crowded primary field on the Democratic side.
