Parts of this area were used as filming location for the 2016 sequel Star Trek Beyond, directed by Justin Lin. Scenes for the film were shot between 25 June 2015 and 26 June 2015 and between 29 June 2015 and 30 June 2015 . The first three days of filming covered the area around the Kacodemon Boulder and Cave Boulder and on the final day, filming took place south of the Black Dyke Boulder. The same day, the 16 pages of the filming permit contract from the BC Ministry of Environment with Center Forward Productions were also posted online. [5]
