P.C. Sadler was the policeman who caught up with Eddie Yeats at Bet Lynch’s flat when he skipped parole from Walton Jail at Christmas 1974. He interrupted Bet and Eddie before they began their (long-delayed) night of passion and also noticed several tins of ham in the flat that he correctly deduced were from a supermarket robbery that took place on Christmas Day (Eddie hadn’t taken part in the robbery but the gang, led by Big Arthur, landed the goods on Eddie for safekeeping). A disgusted Bet told the policeman to take her would-be lover away.
