The bey is named after a Gargoyle. A Gargoyle is a stone grotesque carved into an elongated animal of some sort, usually some sort of demon. The length of an actual gargoyle is repreasented in the "exoskeleton" beneath the chrome wheel. They feature a spout in the "mouth" that is designed to transport water, and is used to prevent flooding so that water flows down from the roof and through the spout. They are said to scare off harmful evil and/or harmful spirits. There are many tales consisting of the ominous statues coming to life.
