He also will teach the player the Healing skill if they prove their ability to show mercy, and the PC is not chaotic. The best-known way to do that is to Save Yriggs. The PC may also demonstrate mercy by healing an injured monster. The PC may not have performed any hostile actions against the monster; unfortunately, throwing a healing potion counts as a hostile action for this purpose. Finally, the PC may demonstrate mercy by offering peace to three frightened monsters. The PC may not have performed any hostile actions against the monsters, but turning undead or casting Scare Monster do not count as hostile actions for this purpose.
