New York media personalities who previously worked @ WPRO include WABC Radio host Mark Simone & WCBS-TV correspondent Magee Hickey. WPRO programming is also heard on WEAN-FM 99.7; this arrangement has been in place since March 11, 2008. WPRO's current program director is Paul Giammarco, who previously held the position @ WSAR in Fall River, MA. On August 16 2007, WPRO announced that former Providence mayor Buddy Cianci would be hosting a weekday program on the station starting September 20. The announcement came after a bidding war for Cianci with cross-town rival WHJJ. He is joined by veteran WPRO broadcaster Ron St. Pierre.
