More than a decade later, in 1999, on the occasion of Popeye's 70th anniversary, Ocean released The Wedding of Popeye and Olive, a further one-shot written by celebrated author Peter David. While abandoning their earlier origins theme, this comic was also drawn in a more realistic style, by artist Dave Garcia.
