Shane Sims (born April 30, 1988) is an American ice hockey defenseman. He is from East Amherst, New York. He attended The Ohio State University. He was drafted by the New York Islanders in the 5th round (126th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. On April 9, 2011 he signed a one-day NHL regular season amateur tryout agreement. On April 9, 2011 he appeared in the Islanders 2010-2011 season finale against the Philadelphia Flyers late in the 3rd period making his NHL debut. He now plays for the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL.
