  • To negate is to invalidate, prevent, or end an effect with respect to a designated area or target.
  • A negate was a type of duel practiced by the Phosphura Belt Pirates to settle internal disputes. The negate was a duel to the death. A pirate wanting to take the chair of the Pirate King or Queen could make a negate challenge, or a negate could be used to settle open hostilities between two pirate groups. It was by custom the subject of game wagers. To add a bit of excitement, negates could be fought in a "Fire Ring of Fornax".
  • Negate (Japanese: 無(む)効(こう)(化(か)) Mukō(ka)) is a term that refers to stopping an action from being performed successfully or nullifying a card effect. Actions that can be negated include card and effect activations, Summons, and attacks.
  • - If an effect is negated, the entire effect is negated. A player does not get any refunds on any costs he or she paid for an effect that is negated. - Negated effects do not create modifiers, create objects, or affect anything, becuase they did not resolve. - After an effect is negated, the primary player receives priority. - Plot twists with version "Epic" can't be negated by modifiers, but can be negated by game rules.
  • Negation is a Unary operation that means "make the following value negative". It cannot be used in place of the subtract command, even though both look similar and are represented by the same symbol in other languages.
