  • Steam Engine is a Technology in Empire: Total War.
  • The Steam Engine is an enemy in Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-. Just like most other Bomb-type creatures, the Steam Engine is vulnerable to Ice-elemental spells and attacks. However, this enemy comes pre-equipped with Regen status, so attack it with Blizzaga or sword attacks swiftly to overcome its HP regeneration. Alternately attacking with a fire magic Materia will cause the Steam Engine to grow, eventually Self-Destructing after a couple of turns.
  • Simply put, when water is heated sufficiently it explodes. When heated water is injected into a cylinder and then compressed by a piston, the explosion of the water will cause the piston to expand, forcing it to turn a flywheel or crankshaft. This rotary motion can then be used to draw uniform circles. This vicious cycle is often termed the water cycle or -- if two cylinders and pistons are used in opposite reciprocating motion -- the Tsunami.
  • .:In British Englishhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_English, the term steam engine may also refer to an entire steam locomotive. A steam engine is an external combustion heat engine that makes use of the thermal energy that exists in steam, converting it to mechanical work.
  • This block provides steam if fueled with Nuclear Fuel. The Steam Engine will continuously generate steam to it's left or right (depends of the facing) until the temperature decreases to 500.
  • The steam engine was a concept made real by the three largest of the Production Guilds, after discovering that out-of-game products can be created in the same way as real food can be made without the Command Menu.
  • A steam engine is a heat engine that converts heat energy to mechanical work using steam as the working fluid. Many, but not all, steam engines are external combustion engines. Steam engines in general allow the use of very many heat sources to produce the steam. Some for example, are powered by geothermal or nuclear power and employ no combustion at all.E.C.E.

There are two common forms of steam engine: reciprocating (piston engine) and rotary (the steam turbine). In common usage, "steam engine" often refers specifically to the reciprocating type. However, both are steam-engines and both use the Rankine cycle. Steam engines may be either "closed cycle" or "open cycle". Open cycle dump the low temperature steam to the environment, closed cycle engines cool and recirculate it. Open cycle engines are typically simpler and have lower weight and initial cost, but can frequently be less efficient.
