A tarboe referred to the eldest son and daughter of a traditional Cilwellian family. According to the Zargayus Doctrine, a being could only have one role in life. Therefore, the job of disciplinarian fell on the shoulders of the tarboe. When they were first born, they were sent to live with the clan's patriarch in order to prevent them from growing attached to their birth family. At age five, they were sent back to their family. The female tarboe disciplined her siblings, while the male punished the female and his parents.
