Poritrin is the third planet in the star system Epsilon Alangue, and an established but largely quiet agricultural world within the Known Universe. Poritrin had a plentiful supply of water, a long growing season, and a gentle climate. It was inhabited since before the Guild times. Farsi, an ancient Terran language was a major language of the Isfahan-e nou area of Poritrin. It came to be in the Zensunni memories, their home world, forgetting Terra. There the legend of Nilotic al-Ourouba was created instead. The Fremen remembered Poritrin as their planet of origin in their songs.

| - Poritrin is the third planet in the star system Epsilon Alangue, and an established but largely quiet agricultural world within the Known Universe. Poritrin had a plentiful supply of water, a long growing season, and a gentle climate. It was inhabited since before the Guild times. Farsi, an ancient Terran language was a major language of the Isfahan-e nou area of Poritrin. House Maros gave the planet to Emperor Elrood V; to populate the planet, he demanded a levy of two million people from Siridar Baron Charles Mikarrol of Old Terra. Mikarrol decided to gather the insolent Zensunni of the planet, thus beginning their migrations. It came to be in the Zensunni memories, their home world, forgetting Terra. There the legend of Nilotic al-Ourouba was created instead. The Fremen remembered Poritrin as their planet of origin in their songs. The easy living affected their societal makeup drastically. A large number of people could be comfortably fed and housed on a relatively small land area and had a stable population in permanent settlements, some of them comparable in size to small cities of the Imperium reaching a population of 10 million. The nomadic lifestyle, the fierce insistence on independence of Terra were abandoned. In 4492 AG the Landsraad leaders of the First Republic wished Poritrin as a new homeworld for House Alexin (whose native world, Pelouzen, had been rendered uninhabitable by a series of semi-legal atomics tests). They sent five legions: approximately one 150,000. Poritrin was a source of resources for the Imperium.
