This epidemic was written in an ancient Arienic text known as "The Obituary": Scientists have recently discovered a virus on Arien during a study of the local freshwater life. They found it to be a similar microorganism to the common Raven Virus. Unlike the Raven Virus, which spreads through people from scavengers, this virus spreads through the water. Many ancient cities were built near rivers and streams, so scientists and archaeologists concluded that the "Aqua Raven Virus" caused the extinction of the Arienic peoples. Studies have shown that the reason why the freshwater/saltwater life on Arien wouldn't die off is that they were immune to this virus. So, in order to prevent another epidemic, all colonists were given a vaccine so that the Eternal Empire would not suffer the same fate as the Arienic Peoples.
