He didn't especially care one way or the other because he wasn't a Jedi. He was just a guy trying to make his way in the middle levels of Coruscant. Through a series of events which haven't been revealed, he became a Jedi Master of the Bakuran Order within a mere 2 years. Shortly after that he journeyed to a planet named Kallibann along with many others after it experienced a massive disturbance in the Force. Most of Rive's adventures that have occurred so far are directly a result of what happened on Kallibann (a story with far too many details to discuss here). He's a fair hand with a blaster due to living most of his life without the Force and an able mechanic (he designed a droid and rebuilt an Imperial Shuttle). He takes delight in entertaining the young children at the Bakuran Jedi Temple with stories of his adventures (since most of them have never - and may never - leave Bakura). Later in life he became a bit eccentric and displayed an unusual aptitude for manipulating and combining Force powers. The reasons for this have yet to be revealed.
