  • A Glamour (or Glamor) was a spell used to conceal or hide the true form of an object, person or area under an illusion. Glamours were not only optical but also auditory as well. While some of them could remain for an indefinite amount of time, others had a time-based existence and eventually faded. Unlike reality alteration or transmogrification, glamours did not cause actual modifications in reality but rather distorted the perception of certain beings. Magic practitioners were capable of performing glamours as it was considered one of the basic steps in witchcraft.
  • However, users of this spell should generally take care to avoid reflective surfaces such as mirrors or water pools, as they reveal one's true shape. A very powerful form of glamour is an ageing spell.

  • Traditionally, The Fair Folk are reputed to have a powerful and subtle magic that disguises their true (and less than fair) form into one that is beautiful, beguiling and beatific. This was called a Glamour. It not only cast an illusion of physical perfection, but made any hapless viewer think of the fae as graceful, wise, a lifelong friend, and made them easily suggestible if not utterly enthralling them in More Than Mind Control. Now imagine a character who has this power, and can use it on crowds. We'll wait for you to stop shivering. Not to be confused with the American Fashion Magazine.
  • In March 2014, as a promotion for the film Muppets Most Wanted, Miss Piggy recorded a video posted on the Glamour website, and the Glamour YouTube channel: "Hello, Glamour readers; it's moi, Miss Piggy! Feel free to stare and take pictures! As you know, I am the ultimate fashionista. I adore clothes! Shoes, bags, coats, shoes, gloves, dresses, jewelry -- and, of course, more shoes! My dearest Kermie thinks I would look good in a paper bag! He's right, of course. But that's not the point. "Moi's hot fashion trend for autumn/winter 2014: Always wear pink!"
