Breviceps bagginsi (common name: Bilbo's rain frog) is a species of frog in the Brevicipitidae family. It was named for The Hobbit character Bilbo Baggins because the scientist who discovered read the stories to his children. It is endemic to South Africa. Its natural habitats are temperate grassland and plantations. It is threatened by habitat loss for construction and maintenance of roads. The species was formerly listed as Data Deficient until 2010 when it was relisted as Vulnerable.
