- The complainer of the group ... hates everything about Earth. A self-proclaimed misfit who finds fault in everything and everyone, but actually acts this way to help cheer others up as they try to cheer him up. Has tremendous strength and endurance, and can tote heavy loads for long distances. Launches to a height of 20 miles to float down on compressed air, though this makes him an easy target due to limited maneuverability. Can detect infrared.
- Gears is the 43rd level in Chip's Challenge Level Pack 1. It was created by Ben Hornlitz.
- Gears are crafting components in Fallout 4.
- Gears is a row of turning cogs, each with a decreasing number of teeth. To get to the only goal, you must cross the bridge of gears, however the time limit forces you to roll along the thin passages between the teeth of the gears.
- To get to the the Black Forest from the Clock Tower one must pass the Gears, as long as they are not touched, Prince Duncan will not be harmed.
- Gears is anti-social, a self-proclaimed misfit. His tech spec indicated he acted this way to cheer others up as they attempted to cheer him up. However, his portrayal in the animated series indicated he tended to annoy his comrades with his constant complaining. Despite this he never shirks from battle with the Decepticons.

- In the Wii version of the game, the Gears are obtained as power-ups during levels, in specific places. Obtaining one will automatically bring Rodea to his most powerful state, while if he takes damage and reverts to his weakest state, the Gear will disappear. In the Wii U/3DS version, once a Gear is obtained, it is permanently available and the player can switch from one Gear to another (or none) at any time. Gears can be upgraded to have better performances or additional functions.

- The Gears (ギアーズ Giāzu) are self-operating machinery produced by Dr. Granz Florian, functioning as "restore machines and materials for death-eclipse regions" (死蝕地帯の復旧機材 shishoku chitai no hukkyū kizai), i.e. for Eltria, in the Gears of Destiny continuity.
- Gears is a motorball team that was represented in the Top League by Jashugan. It included a cyberphysician, two nurses, and two engineers. Daisuke Ido was a member of Gears for a brief period of time.
- "This spirit of inevitability is found north of Border Town. Gears can force evil beings to turn on one another."
- Gears hates Earth, a lush, green planet practically as unlike his cozy, gray, metallic homeworld as possible. He grumbles and complains about being shipwrecked on it -- complains and grumbles to a ridiculous extent, until he becomes a source of amusement, rather than negativity. This is usually his intent -- unlike his fellow Mini-Bot Huffer, Gears has a desire to help his fellow Autobots see good in a bad situation. Still, he does get depressed from time to time.
- Gears is the complainer in the group. He absolutely hates the Earth and everything about it and he is eager to let the others know this. He is a self-proclaimed misfit, the type who finds fault in everything and everyone, even himself. That is one of the reasons Optimus Prime finds him useful: Gears is so sour-tempered that the rest of the Autobots cheer themselves up by trying to cheer him up. Only Optimus knows that Gears' complaining is an act. Gears realizes his function is to force his companions to see what's good about a situation, and he performs accordingly.
- In the Gel Purification Site room, there is no floor, but a network of gears that process raw Fuel Gel before it is sent to a network for piping. Falling into these gears is hazardous, and so Samus must cross the room via Grapple Swing Points. In the Powerworks room later on, gears power an ancient but still functional mechanism, but one gear has fallen off. Samus can reattach it by standing on a raised platform, throwing the gear into the air with her Grapple Lasso and then shooting a single Missile at it. The repaired system will reveal a Chozo Statue containing the Spider Ball.
