  • The Others was a reference used by the twelve Iconians overseeing the invasion of the Milky Way Galaxy in the year 2410 to a group responsible for saving them from their doom, when their homeworld, Iconia, suffered an orbital bombardment 200,000 years ago by an alliance of several species which had rebelled against the Iconian Empire's rule. For the Iconians, the Others had died during the assault in order to save them. It was later discovered that these Others were actually a group of the Alpha Quadrant Alliance which was sent back in time, intending to prevent any Iconian from escaping the orbital bombardment, meaning there would be no survivors to fight the Iconian War.
  • "The Others" is episode 14 of Season 4.
  • A term used by members of the Clan to refer to Cro-Magnon (also known as Homo sapiens peoples that coexisted with them during the time period of the series. Unlike the term flathead, "Others" is not necessarily a derogatory term, though the Clan may not know the Others call them that.

  • The Others, referred to by the DHARMA Initiative as the Hostiles or the Natives, and also by the tail section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815 as Them, are a group of people living on the Island who were followers of Jacob, intermediated by Richard Alpert. Jacob never showed himself to his people, and they took orders from a succession of leaders including Eloise Hawking, Charles Widmore, Benjamin Linus, and briefly, John Locke.
  • The Others, also known as White Walkers are a mythological race mentioned in ancient legends and stories from the time of the First Men and the Children of the Forest. Eight thousand years before Robert's Rebellion, a winter known as the Long Night lasted a generation. In the darkness and cold of the Long Night, the White Walkers descended upon Westeros from the farthest north, the polar regions of the Lands of Always Winter. None knew why they came, but they killed all in their path, reanimating the dead as wights to kill the living at their command. Eventually the peoples of Westeros rallied and in a conflict known as the War for the Dawn, they managed to defeat the White Walkers and drive them back into the uttermost north, with the Wall raised to bar their return.
  • The Others are a team of heroes comprised of six members, each of who had an individual Atlantean relic. They reunite on and off, generally when Aquaman requests them to reform.
  • The Others was a band who formed at Hampton Grammer School, similar to 1984. They consited of older boys than Brian's band. • The term "The Others" was coined by Danielle Rousseau, and the survivors of Flight 815 adopted the term to describe anyone on the island not from the plane, with the general use of the term meaning "the enemy," or people to be feared and avoided at all costs. A specific name that the Others call themselves has not been revealed, though their current leader Ben Linus has described them as "the good guys." The DHARMA Initiative, on the other hand, referred to the Others as "the Hostiles."
  • Throughout history there have been stories of beings that are both human yet decidedly alien - from the Men in Black, the Black-Eyed Kids and the ever-popular humanoid abominations such as Slender Man or Stephen King's infamous "IT" (at least the Pennywise incarnation). Yet most of these stories, no matter how popular, have been proven to be either false or the result of over-active imaginations - which is why the story I am about to share with you may be seen as either real or an "urban legend", depending on how far you are willing to push your mind.
