So, with that being said, the heroes should pick up the Barrel and carry it along with them. At the end of this floor, the heroes can see a crumbling, rock platform ahead. The Kongs can jump here. An arch of Bananas connects this crumbling, rock platform with another crumbling, rock platform. The heroes should quickly jump to this next crumbling, rock platform. Another arch of Bananas ending with a Banana Coin connects this crumbling, rock platform with a floor made up of five rectangular prism-shaped platforms. How do we know this? Well, let's find out. The heroes should quickly jump to this floor before the crumbling, rock platform carries the Kongs into the lava along with it. As soon as the Kongs land on this floor...Well, the impact that the Kongs make to this floor makes it seem as if an asteroid hit its left edge. Why, well, it splits the floor into five rectangular prism-shaped platforms, and a Tiki Goon can be seen jumping off the floor by the impact and landing back on it. The Tiki Goon then continues to move forward. However, this isn't what really is to look at. What we should be looking at is that these rectangular prism-shaped platforms that have been split are now traveling forward across the lava! So what do we do! Board that boat! Similar, but not quite. The Kongs should jump on the Tiki Goon to get rid of it, and jump/walk on a platform before it moves off. On one of the five moving rectangular prism-shaped platforms, the first thing the apes will come across is a winged Banana, a regular Banana, a Banana Coin and a Fireball moving in a circular path. The Kongs should not dodge the collectibles, however, if the Fireball does come close, they should jump over it. Shortly after the Kongs safely pass this group of collectibles + enemy moving in a circular path, they will approach a Banana Bunch in front of a structure with a skull-shaped head moving down the lava. The heroes can jump to the Banana Bunch when they get close enough. Also during this, the heroes will soon approach a platform above the moving platforms' path. There are two Bananas with a Banana Coin on top above this platform, as well as a sandbag and a Fireball moving in a circular path to the right of the platform. The sandbag is your target if you are still carrying the Barrel. So, the Kongs can jump onto this platform and...wait a minute! Don't tell me that's another monkey statue attached to this platform in the background! Jeez Louise! Furious Fire had some, Hot Rocket had one, Bobbing Basalt had one! Is the Volcano really trying to bring back memories of the Ruins' second level, Button Bash? More monkey statues are seen as the Kongs proceed through the level. Anyway on this platform, the heroes have two choices. The Kongs can either throw the Barrel (if they are still holding it) at the sandbag, or let another moving, rectangular prism-shaped platform pass this platform the apes are on and jump to it. The Kongs will bust open the sandbag while jumping to it. A Puzzle Piece will appear on another safe platform's left edge, which can be seen ahead regardless of what method is used to bust open the sandbag. Anyway, once the heroes bust open the sandbag (this is going by strategy 1, which is throwing the Barrel at the sandbag), the heroes must first wait for the Fireball that passes by the sandbag (which should be destroyed by now) to pass the platform they are on and then jump onto a moving, rectangular prism-shaped platform below them. Here, it won't be much of a long ride before the platform sinks into the lava underneath the next safe platform's left edge. So, the Kongs should jump to this next safe platform, automatically collecting the Puzzle Piece when they land. On this floor, the apes will see a Char-char nearing them, three molten objects attached to a propeller that can be blown on for a collectible (s) most likely, and an arch of Bananas over a strange, pot-like object in the center of the platform that can be pounded on for a collectible, most likely. The first thing the apes should do here is to at least try to blow on the Char-char to get rid of it. To do this, the apes should dodge the enemy's jumps/lands if it is going to land on them. Then they should wait for the enemy to land next to them after jumping and quickly blow on it before it jumps again. If done correctly, the enemy will disintegrate (destroy into pieces) and be gone. Huh? WHAT?? Well, obviously all you are doing is waiting for the Char-char to land nearby and blow on it to defeat it. Oh, ok! Anyway, after the Char-char is defeated, the Kongs can look ahead to notice rectangular prism-shaped platforms popping out of the lava, cooling off, and heading forward through the lava constantly. Constantly?! Well, it's an endless supply of platforms so I can jump on them whenever I feel like! Wow, anyway, there is also another Fireball moving in a circular path nearby where these rectangular prism-shaped platforms appear from the lava. Right after this Fireball moving in a circular path, there is a Banana Bunch in front of a structure heading down the lava. So, once a platform comes out of the lava and cools off, the heroes should jump onto it. Now, on a moving platform, the heroes should dodge (jump over) the Fireball moving in a circular path if it happens to come near them. After safely passing this Fireball, they can then jump to the Banana Bunch on the structure when they get close enough to it. Another Fireball is moving in a circular path not too far after this structure with the Banana Bunch in front of it. Almost immediately after this Fireball's circular path, there is a very small, thin safe platform with two Bananas and a Banana Coin on top above it. The moving platforms sink into the lava right before they touch this platform. So, the Kongs should prepare to jump over this next Fireball if it comes close, and after doing that, they should jump onto this thin safe platform with the two Bananas with a Banana Coin on top above it. As soon as the Kongs land on this platform, a large, circular object plummets (falls) into the lava from the sky, creating a large splash. No, not that type of splash that splashes water, etc all over the place! That splash can't hurt the Kongs. Only half of this circular object is seen once it enters the lava. So, since there is nothing else entertaining above this platform (Shaking my head, BORING!!!), the Kongs should go ahead and jump on this circular object. The object begins to roll through the lava, creating fire as it rolls. Oh no, it's burning! Psych! The object is not burning, even though it creates small red flames of fire as it rolls through the lava. Anyway, if you are standing on something that is rolling, how do you keep you balance? Well the same question is being asked here as this circular object carries the Kongs through the object. To keep their balance, the apes should repeatedly jump on it. Shortly, the Kongs will near a Fireball moving in a circular path and the letter K of the K-O-N-G Letters in front of a structure that is sinking into the lava SLOWLY. How slowly? So slowly that even a tortoise moves faster than this sinking structure! Anyway, to obtain the letter K, the Kongs should jump over the Fireball if it nears them, and also jump over it when it passes the letter K (which is a wiser decision than the previous). The heroes can then safely jump to the letter K. Shortly after the letter K is collected, the heroes will near a Barrel Cannon. This circular object sinks into the lava before it heads under the Barrel Cannon. Before this circular object carries the Kongs into the lava, they should jump into the Barrel Cannon. Now inside here, the objective for the Kongs is to fire through the paths of three Fireballs each moving in a circular motion. THREE FIREBALLS MOVING IN A CIRCULAR PATH!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!! Yep, that's the objective. Anyway, a winged Banana accompanies each Fireball moving in its circular path, and it is located in front of that particular Fireball. Also, there is a Banana Coin in the air to the right of this dangerous area with these three Fireballs. However, the Banana Coin is what the player should look at. This Banana Coin is in the same spot as the Barrel Cannon only way further away. No, of course not a mile away! Let's go by a couple yards away. Anyway, that means that if a line was drawn between the Barrel Cannon and the Banana Coin it would be completely straight, with no bumps, curves, etc. So if any of the three Fireballs passes by the Banana Coin, then it is a "no no" to fire from the Barrel Cannon. That means you are not ready to fire yet. So, once all three Fireballs are not passing by the Banana Coin, the apes can fire. The Kongs will head through the Banana Coin, collecting it, and land on a long, thin, rectangular prism-shaped platform. This platform swifly takes the Kongs through a narrow passageway, allowing the Kongs to collect a long trail of Bananas on the way. Right before this rectangular prism-shaped platform heads down a hill of lava, the heroes can jump to a safe platform that holds two Bananas. There is a higher platform above the Kongs slightly to the right that holds a strange, pot-like object. The Kongs can jump onto this higher platform and pound the strange, pot-like object on it for a Heart. Now, after the strange, pot-like object has been pounded and the Heart inside has been collected, the apes can look to the right of them to notice a steep hill of lava (this hill is shaped like a positive slope that you learn about in math class in middle school). Rectangular prism-shaped platforms slowly move down this hill. The only way to proceed is by climbing up the hill by jumping from platform to platform as they move down this hill. Some Banana Bunches in front of structures also move down this hill but in the background, like before, however, the Banana Bunch can still be collected by jumping to it, like before. So, on this platform with the pounded strange, pot-like object, the Kongs should wait for a platform to come by. When one does, they should quickly jump on it. Now from here, the apes should jump and hover to the next platform. This can be pretty due to the large space between the two platforms, but after the Kongs land on the next platform, they should keep jumping and hovering from platform to platform until they come by a safe platform at the top of the hill. There is a DK Barrel, a Char-char, an arch of Bananas over the DK Barrel, and two molten objects attached to a propeller that can be blown on for a collectible , most likely on this platform. Underneath the left and right edges of this platform, rectangular-prism shaped platforms appear from the lava and head left (going down the hill the apes just climbed) and right (going down the hill the apes must go down after this platform). So, once the Kongs near this platform with the DK Barrel, etc, on it, they should jump on it. Here, the Kongs should defeat the Char-char by dodging it with jumps and then blow it. After this Char-char has been defeated, the Kongs can look forward. As mentioned earlier, rectangular prism-shaped platforms appear from underneath the right edge of the platform the apes are on and move down a hill. This time, the hill, unlike the previous, is shaped like a negative slope. There are 4 Fireballs moving in circular path ahead. The first Fireball moves circles a Banana Bunch. After that first Fireball, there are two Fireballs moving in a circular path. They orbit a Banana Coin. Last but not least, the final Fireball follows these two Fireballs and circles a Banana Bunch. So those are the obstacles the Kongs must dodge when they jump on one of the platforms going downhill. So, once a platform has come out of the lava and cooled down, the heroes can jump on it. As the platform moves downhill, the heroes should dodge the Fireballs if they come to close to them by jumping over them. Almost immediately after passing the last Fireball in this area, the heroes will come up to a platform holding four Bananas on it. They should jump onto this platform. If the Kongs look forward, they can see another identical platform to their right, which also holds four Banana. There's a secret here, even though it is exposed clearly. There is a Char-char nearing the Kongs from the identical platform from their right (the two platforms are so close to one another that the Char-char can jump from one to another). Yeah, but that's not really what the secret is. Can you guess? Yep, it's the Puzzle Piece beneath the identical platform on the right! "But how do you get it?" is the question. Well, let's find out. First, the heroes should get rid of the Char-char by jumping over it and then blowing it. After the Char-char has been taken out, the Kongs should jump to the identical platform on their right and head to its right edge. What do we see here? Even though it can't been to clearly, what is really ahead are many circular objects (or should we say circular halves of the object, even though the other half is most likely under the lava and cannot be seen) rolling towards the Kongs in the lava. So, to get the Puzzle Piece, the heroes must jump on the closest circular object from the platform they are on. On this platform, the Kongs can jump to the Puzzle Piece right before the circular object goes down a small hill and sinks into the lava. Anyway, the Kongs should end up back on the identical platform to the right after jumping off the circular object and collecting the Puzzle Piece. Now, once again, the heroes should jump on the closest circular object rolling towards them in the lava. Once they land here, the heroes must jump from circular object to circular object until they reach a thin platform with two Bananas and a Banana Coin on top above it. However, on the way to this platform, the Kongs will encounter two Fireballs moving in a separate circular path. These enemies must be dodged with a jump if they come too close to the enemies. Now when the apes near their target platform, which is the thin platform with the two Bananas and a Banana Coin on top above it, there is a problem. To the right of this thin platform is where the circular objects moving towards the heroes before were coming from. Because the circular objects come out hot and are large in size, getting to this thin platform is more difficult than it looks. Don't you wish you were Kirby at this moment (so that you can just repeatedly jump to the platform)? However, here's the trick to get to that thin platform safely. When one of the circular objects comes out of the lava and cools down, the heroes should jump on it. Quickly before the circular object carries them away, the heroes should jump onto the thin platform. Here, the Kongs can notice that the area they are in is much larger than it looks! There is a larger platform above them slightly to the right that has a Char-char jumping back and forth on it. The letter O is above this platform. After this larger platform with the letter O above it slightly to the right (and below it), there is another platform identical to the one the heroes are standing on (which they just jumped to from the circular objects). This identical thin platform also has two Bananas and a Banana Coin on top above it. Also, below the large platform with the letter O above it, there is a smaller platform that holds a strange pot-like object. The Kongs can drop down to this platform from any of the two "twin" thin platforms with the Bananas and a Banana Coin on top. However, unless you are a Banana Bunch lover or you find Banana Bunches worth a lot, the strange, pot-like object on this platform really isn't worth pounding. If it is pounded, a Banana Bunch pops out of the object. Really? A Banana Bunch? What really should be inside that platform is a Puzzle Piece. Look how dangerous it was to get to that platform with the strange, pot-like object and all we get from it is a Banana Bunch? They call this a reward?! Well, we call it quits! Lol (slang term for laughing out loud) anyway, the Kongs can jump on the large platform and take out the Char-char on it by blowing it. After the Char-char is wasted (defeated, killed), the heroes can jump to the letter O above the platform they are on. Anyway, after this letter O is collected, the heroes can jump to the identical thin platform on the right. When the Kongs jump to this platform, a circular object swiftly plummets into the lava to their right. Surprisingly, there is no splash on the impact. The Kongs can jump onto this circular object. There is a secret here, however, it has not yet appeared. The Kongs should repeatedly jump on the circular object to keep their balance as the circular object takes them into a part where the background no longer shows outside, but instead, a brick-like wall. Shortly after the circular object enters this area, it nears a platform and sinks into the lava. Right before the object ends up completely into the lava, a Puzzle Piece will appear on it. To collect this Puzzle Piece, the Kongs should let the object sink into the lava until they collect the piece on it. After the Puzzle Piece is collected, the heroes should jump to this nearby platform. On this platform, the Kongs can find three molten objects attached to a propeller that can be blown on for a Banana Bunch and a Banana, as well as the Tutorial Pig hosting the first and only checkpoint in the level. Wow, we really had to go through a lot to get to the checkpoint! Where's the DK Barrel?! Well, sadly, the DK Barrel we passed earlier is the only one in the entire level. WHAT?!! AND WE NEED THE DK BARREL RIGHT NOW!!! Well, if you find this terrible, wait till you enter the next level, Red Red Rising, where no DK Barrel is present at all. Complain about that! Anyway, there is another secret around here. But where? Well, there is a platform above the platform the Kongs are on slightly to the left (this platform is above the platform's left edge slightly to the left). Could this platform take us to the secret. Well, let's find out! The Kongs should jump onto this platform. They can jump to two Bananas and a Banana Coin on top above this platform. A red fan is to the left of this platform, as seen in the picture above. If the Kongs move to this platform's left edge (not too close, otherwise you'll end up falling to your death) and blow the fan for a while, a platform comes down from a small, rectangular hole it is attached to to the left of the red fan. This rectangular hole is that platform's track. Anyway once the platform gets low enough, the Kongs can jump on it. The platform will slowly carry the Kongs into the level's one and only Bonus Room. After playing the Bonus Room's minigame, the Kongs will be dropped back onto the platform with the checkpoint. The Kongs can head to this platform's right edge. A Barrel Cannon can be seen above the lava to their right. The Kongs should jump into the Barrel Cannon. Here, the objective is more tricky than before. There are 6 Fireballs present in this area. The six Fireballs are divided into three groups of two. The first pair of Fireballs "orbit" a Banana, the second pair "orbits" the letter N, and the last pair of Fireballs "orbits" a Banana. A Banana Coin is, once again, at the very end this area. The Banana, the letter N, the next Banana, and the Banana Coin are all in the same place as the Barrel Cannon the apes are in, only further. So, if a line had to be drawn from the Barrel Cannon to the Banana Coin, the two Bananas + the letter N would be in it. There will also be no bumps, curves, etc in the line either. However, to get through here safely, the Kongs must fire when not one of the 6 Fireballs is passing by the Banana Coin. If one does happen to do so, and the Kongs fire, they will hit the Fireball and land into the lava. That won't be too cool having to restart from the checkpoint. So when no Fireballs are in the Banana Coin's way, the Kongs can safely fire themselves. They will collect all four collectibles (the two Bananas, the letter N, and the Banana Coin) before they land on another thin, rectangular-prism shaped platform. This thin, rectangular prism-shaped platform carries the Kongs through some Bananas as it goes through a narrow passageway. The thin, rectangular prism-shaped platform crashes into a part of a large structure. The Kongs should jump onto a platform attached to this structure. OK, readers who are reading and playing at the same time, pause the game real quick. This structure is made three columns and three rows. Platforms are on each column and row. As soon as the thin, rectangular-prism shaped object hits this structure, it begins to slowly sink into the lava. There is a Puzzle Piece on the lowest platform on the last row/column, which the heroes can swiftly jump to if they want to collect it. However, as the structure slowly sinks into the lava, something bad happens. Many Fireballs of different sizes appear and travel across the screen. GASP! IT'S AN AMBUSH!!! FIREBALL ATTACK!!! ALERT!!! ALERT!!! FIREBALL ATTACK!!! The Kongs must dodge the Fireballs by maneuvering around the platform's carefully (dropping down to lower platforms/jumping to upper platforms). Small and medium-sized Fireballs appear mostly in groups and "attack" the Kongs. Halfway through this ambush, a giant Fireball travels across the screen to the right. The Kongs should move up a bit or down a bit to the upper or lower platforms to dodge this Fireball (note, the game can be unpaused now). While dodging Fireballs, the Kongs can collect Bananas on the platform, trails of Bananas beginning with a winged Banana and ending with a Banana Coin (Hey, those weren't seen from since the Forest's seventh level, Wigglevine Wonders! References these days!), Banana Bunches and even the letter G along the way. The Bananas, Banana Bunches and the letter G are found on the platforms attached to the structure descending into the lava, however, the trail of Bananas beginning with a winged Banana and ending with a Banana Coin appear from the right side of the screen and travel across the screen. After all Fireballs have traveled across the screen the Kongs can jump to the platform on the last row/column. The screen will move a bit to the right to show the Slot Machine Barrel above the lava to the Kongs' right. Right before this whole structure ends up into the lava, carrying the Kongs with them, the Kongs should jump into the Slot Machine Barrel. Once this is done, the level is complete!
