  • Canadian Forces Base Trenton is a Canadian military air base located east of Trenton, Ontario. CFB Trenton was opened in 1931 as RCAF Trenton. It was renamed CFB Trenton upon 1968 merger of different arms of the Canadian military into the Canadian Armed Forces. Trenton is Canada's prime fixed-wing strategic and tactical airlift base. It is presently home to six squadrons of aircraft flying the C-130 Hercules, CC-150 Polaris (Airbus), C-17 Globemaster, Challenger VIP transport and Griffon search and rescue helicopters, as well as associated lodger units. The base is also known as 8 Wing Trenton.
