The Lethan Twi'lek Teya Carsise was his apprentice, and after the trials she would assist him with instruction. By 32 BBY he was a member of the High Jedi Council, below only Mace Windu and Yoda in seniority. He was skeptical of the assertions that Qui-Gon Jinn had made at the time of the Naboo Crisis:that the Sith had returned and that the prophecy of the Chosen One would be fulfiled in the form of Anakin Skywalker. After the death of Darth Maxah, it was agreed unanimously among the Council that the Sith had indeed returned, yet it is unknown if Nju supported Skywalker's training following the events of the Battle of Naboo.
