IG-666, known heavily as Scratch although unrelated to Clawcious R. Scratch, was an IG-series assassin droid built by Eggman Robotnik and manufactured by Holowan Laboratories. One of the most famed IG droids behind IG-88A, Scratch was known for killing many criminals for bounties, and often sided with Boba Fett when he collected bounties for Hutt crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure. In addition to his superior weapon skill, he was one of the few droids that could actively and precisely use a lightsaber, of which Scratch owned a Sith lightsaber with a red synth crystal.

IG-666 was built at the planet Holowan by Eggman Robotnik with the assistance of Holowan Laboratories. Robotnik suggested that Scratch be a protocol droid, but by request of Holowan Labs, he decided to make it an assassin droid to assist him with his attempts to rule the galaxy with the Galactic Empire. Scratch was eventually forgotten by the beginning of the Galactic Civil War, and this helped Scratch begin his career as a bounty hunter. Before the Battle of Pika, in an attempt to avenge the death of his crime lord, Scratch vowed to exterminate his main enemy—the Republic of Acorn and its allies, the Pikachuians. He rounded up three of his fellow bounty hunters—Bean, Fang, and Shadow—and ambushed the Pikachuian tribe during the battle and killed many Pikachus in Chieftain Raichu's palace, leaving only Raichu to deal with. A fierce duel ensued, and his fellow bounty hunters fell into the hands of Raichu. When he was put defenseless by his target, Scratch activated a secret self-destruct mechanism to kill him, but Raichu used Force speed to help him escape before his palace went up in flames resulted by the explosion.
