Since males were a majority of cigarette smokers, and filtered cigarettes were thought to be safer, they redirected the marketing to men though now they are neutral on gender.

Il suffit d'observer le paquet de cigarette sous toutes ses faces pour s'apercevoir que les zones rouges formes trois K, qui sont bien évidemment les initiales du Ku Klux Klan. De plus en se concentrant sur le bas du M, du L et du B du paquet on voit distinctement les jambes d'un membre du Ku Klux Klan admirant un pendu éxecuté par ses compagnons de battaille, "Phillipe" et "Maurice" regroupés sous le pseudonyme de Philip Morris dans un logo très évocateur sur le paquet : deux chevaux, rappelant les chevaux sur lesquels les membres du Ku Klux Klan se déplacaient.
