Ferdinand Emmanuel Edralín Marcos (Born September 11, 1917) is the current President of the Philippines. He was a lawyer, member of the Philippine House of Representatives (1949-1959) and a member of the Philippine Senate (1959-1965). During World War II he was the leader of the Ang Maharlika guerilla force in northern Luzon. In 1963 he became Senate President. In 1969, President Marcos was reelected for an unprecedented second term because of his impressive performance or, as his critics claim, because of massive vote-buying and electoral frauds. His wife is the famous Filipino beauty Queen, Imelda Marcos.
